Pricing on Max Care Unlimited warranty?

After a bit of research the Max care unlimited warranty really seems like a great idea. The primary reason we ever trade in or buy a new vehicle is the looming threat of having to spend money on expensive out of warranty repairs.

Just curious where the cheapest place to get one would be?

Use Google. There are several dealers selling on the internet. Just be sure you are getting the Chrysler, not a third party, warranty, if that is what you want. Once you get a price you can either buy through the internet as I did, or bring that price to your dealer to see if they will match it.

I paid $2180 for my lifetime Max Care service contract from an online Chrysler dealer. (It's not a "warranty"...) That was about the lowest available at the time.

Ditto.

And, just for consideration... We went with the 7yr/100k mile Max Care contract. Our reasoning is that this one is transferable, whereas the lifetime is NOT.

Whether the lifetime is trasferable depends on what state you are in. Florida appears to be one in which it is.

Are several deductables, I chose the $100 and bought lifetime added care + instead of maxcare. My reasoning was that the savings paid for the service manual several times over & small repairs can be done for less than a benjamin.

ps asked my dealer if they would match and they wouldn't.

Just as an FYI, when my dealer was trying to sell me on it, he said that since I had a control number, and was a part of the Chrysler affiliate program, I could also get a discount on the lifetime max care. I think his quote was a little over $1800. So in case anyone else is part of that, ask about it.

I did not buy it, since he told me that price would be good for a while, so I wanted to wait a bit.

I guess I'll be looking for something for our 2014 GC Overland as well. I'll have to start reading the fine print I guess. :)

I only went with the lifetime service contract because of the miles I'm putting on the JGC...which are piling up faster than they used to because of some job-related travel where it's just plain easier to drive than fly.

I bought the max care yesterday the guy said it is not transferable. It's good if you drive a lot of miles and keep your truck a long while. Consider others if you plans to sell it later. They had many different plans like 7/100, 6/120 etc.

One good reason to do it when you buy truck is to roll cost into loan.

Be advised the price goes up each year. It was $1800 back in 2011 and each year it has gone up a couple hundred bucks. I think the price changes in October.

I did some digging and I found this:

TRANSFER POLICY: This plan is non-transferable to subsequent owners or lessees, even if they are within the same family or business except when purchased in the state of North Carolina.

It says when *purchased* in NC. Nothing about the location of the sale. So there's that. I'd also double check on the Florida thing - there's no mention of transferability in Florida.

Buying on a control number does appear to get you 25% off MSRP for a Chrysler Service Contract. Unfortunately, that is still a fairly lousy deal. My salesguy quoted it, and I told him "eh, I can beat that online without trying very hard.." to which he replied "tell me the number you want and I'll see if I can make it work"

I told my salesguy that I could get the unlimited maxcare for $2200 online without breaking a sweat, so I asked for $2150. He met that number, we're both happy.

Good deal, Tom. (And the new JGC looks great! Your lovely daughter shared a picture with me the other day)

Max care and leasing

I am not clear on leasing and Max Care.

While I obviously would not need Max Care should I turn a leased vehicle in, there is no way I'd keep it without such.

I recall seeing a few posts that Max care bought later may/may not cost more, but didn't see much detail.

Other than the normal year to year variations, why would the price change at, say 30K miles when one is likely ready to decide if the truck is a keeper?

Thanks for all the info in this thread. Just picked up the 17 Trailhawk I ordered a month ago. Primarily based on the info in this thread, for the first time, I also opted the Maxcare service plan/warranty (Lifetime/$100 Ded) based on how far I drive and how long I keep cars.
I did 3 quotes from the vendors mentioned at JeepGarage (Zeigler/ChryslerWarranty/Zeller)
My local dealer came within $300 of best price, but went with clay@zellermotors.com
Quick responses to my inquiries and turnaround of the paperwork.
Thanks again for all the posts!
