Have almost a year with a 2011 Benz C300 4Matic and these potholes just want to eat me. Debating on the 2015 BMW X3 28diesel now M Sport pkg or GC Summit. The prices are looking better in the GC but its also a bigger vehicle not sure I need that size just yet.

How was your transition ?

So I've never had an SUV as each time I've went to purchase one the reality hits that I really didn't need it. Now I do, so in my research it's been JGC, X5, Tahoe and the other GM likes.

The X3 is a great model and practical in size. For me personally I feel like it's a little too conservative looking and doesn't have the rugged personality the jeep provides. I'm hoping to close the deal on an overland tomorrow.

I have a little over 9000 miles on it and I'm running a 20.8 mpg combined average. I haven't looked at it purely from a city or highway angle.

My roundtrip commute to work is 50 miles. I'd say that 35 miles of that is open highway driving with speeds between 60-75 mph. The rest is the usual stop and go crap.

We just finished our 4th coldest winter on record. Can't remember where we ranked on snowfall but it was significant. Those conditions really drop the fuel economy due to being in 4WD a lot so I'm pleased to still be running that kind of average.
Funny. This is exactly me as well but my commute is 30 miles. 20 of which highway then the rest city crap. I average 20.8 right now.
