Re: Purchasing a 2013 Altitude Need Advice Please

My 2012 Overland Summit 4x4 V8...which is top of the line...only cost $2000 more out the door (+T/T) than what they are asking for that 2013 Laredo with all those things added on. If you're not locked into the idea of a 2013, a 2012 Limited or Overland would be a better choice, given the $1750 in incentives that are available for a V8 version.

Re: Purchasing a 2013 Altitude Need Advice Please

If you sign up for a 3 year membership (for $60) here: http://www.treadlightly.org/page.php/chrysler_discount you can then get Chrysler Affiliate Pricing which is 1% below invoice. There's supposedly a 30 day waiting period before you can use it but people have used it sooner than that. Using it gets the dealer a bonus of 2% back or 1% above invoice from Chrysler LLC so you could probably be able to negotiate an extra 1% below that for a total of 2% below invoice. It will be on their lot if you order it from them. That dealer is basically trying to screw you when they say they can't negotiate unless it's on their lot.
So using Affiliate Pricing for the Jeep you want gets you to $40,064 + a required fee of $75 at time of purchase so $40,139. And they cannot charge you ANY additional "dealer fees". + you pay tax/title obviously. If you can negotiate more off of it you could get it for $39,735. Or you could scour the country for a 2012 for the exact color and model you want on some dealers lot and pay more like $37,985.

Affiliate pricing is also available as an employer benefit...that's how I got it. My employer benefits include things like car discounts.

Why not get a limited from the lot and do the mods post purchase... http://www.justforjeeps.com/jegrchwk2pa.html#top
All the external Altitude parts can be ordered, you can order the parts (lights, mesh grill, tailgate, wheels) Personally, I'd buy everything except the wheel. Just paint/dip the Limited wheels black and you'll save yourself some cash

Re: Purchasing a 2013 Altitude Need Advice Please

I see what you suggesting and i thoght about it but it is just easier to order the altitude less hassel. On another not did get the $43,000 OTD, this was a friends and family purchase, all options except engine heater. I did sign up for treadlightly but dont think its going to save may any more $, although I am eligable for $500 for Disabled Vet with DD214 and veterans award letter.

Don't forget the $500 certificate you get when you ask for a brochure on the website and say you're buying "real soon now". (Sadly, my certificate arrived yesterday...I forgot I requested it...and I made my purchase three weeks ago) And yes, it's good on 2013s and with your F&F pricing or affiliate pricing.

Re: Purchasing a 2013 Altitude Need Advice Please

Ok, thanks just ordered it but did not see "real soon now" as a selection so I chose 1 month or less. Do the mail the certificate out with the brochure? and how long does it take to arive? Thank you, Felix

Re: Purchasing a 2013 Altitude Need Advice Please

LOL "Real Soon Now" would be the equivalent of "1 month or less".

My brochure took about a month to get. My understanding is that if you wait a few days, your dealer may be able to look up your certificate number and provide the $500 incentive before the paper certificate is received. I'm very sad that I forgot that point when I was closing my deal...

The engine heater is listed as an option but it's also an accessory. You can buy it and have it installed after purchase.

Re: Purchasing a 2013 Altitude Need Advice Please

Reading all these posts, I find it truly amazing how much of a discount one could get on a vehicle that already has the best bang for the buck at MSRP!

As long as you did it online already, the dealer can look it up. I did it and just actually received my "coupon" in the mail yesterday and my dealer looked it up in the system when I bought my Altitude 3-4 weeks ago. I was "in the system" already, so he applied that $500.

I bought an Altitude and I love it so far. I would have liked the headlights to be HID, but having the black bezels is what I really wanted. The only other option I would have wanted would have been the Off Road package (not available with Altitude, so I got the All Weather group) and the Cooled seats. Wasn't worth another $2k to me to get cooled seats, and I can add the skid plates whenever I choose.

Received my $500 bonus cash via email and it says 2012 only. It further states that it is not compatable with other direct mail incentives. I have a $1000 direct mail certificate. Sounds like I cannot use the $500 on a 2013 for both reasons.
