Can't you just shut it off with the remote start?

As Perry Mason would say, already asked and answered.

Pop the hood, just behind the the passenger side headlight. Disconnect both harnesses from the silver Power Control Module. This will kill the engine but also cut all power so your battery doesn't die.

Sorry, could not find a better pic on Google.

I just got back from the dealership in Huntington Beach. I asked to see the failed part, so went back to the shop parking lot with Dean. Several of the mounting points for the switch module broke on the back of the chromed plastic piece with wood on front - four or five. The guys joked with me about pushing too hard, but I am sure I could not develop enough force with one finger to break it as it failed.

They say the part is in the southern California warehouse and they will have it tomorrow.
Oh, OH . . . damn that '14, it's had all sorts of quips & quibbles . . . they fixed that there "issue" from '15 on ! So sorry. Must be my day to just be silly ! Hope they fix it for FREE !

Maybe they could go back to making things like chopsticks instead of us:

Angry Re: Push Start Fell Inside Dash

Yesterday I had to move the Grand Cherokee from the garage and I pushed the start button with my foot on the brake. The button fell into the dash on the left side but the right side appears to be still connected to the dashboard. The vehicle did not start and button assembly was able to be pushed again and it started. This appears to be very cheaply made button holder, on the dash, or it was not installed correctly at the factory.
