QL Kneeling?

Question for those of you who already have Quadra Lift.

Does your rig kneel (lower/squat...whatever you call it) automatically when you shift to park or turn off the ignition?

If not automatic, do you know if there is a driver configurable setting to make it kneel automatically?

Orrrr.... does the driver simply need to remember to pusha da button to make it kneel manually?

Re: QL Kneeling?

Only the 2014+ quadra lift equipped vehicles will automatically lower to park/exit ride height when vehicle is shifted into park. To turn this feature on simply go into settings on your main nav screen, then into suspension, then turn on automatic lowering. You haven't browsed through all the customizable settings that's all right there easily accessible on the screen?

I had that option on my 2011 Overland.

Dont have one yet. Still dreaming.

I figured I'd ask about known features rather than speculating about desired features or lamenting schedule slippage.

So....Auto-kneel IS possible with QL.

Nice.

The early builds from '14 didn't get that option, including mine, which was built in February '13. They came out with the update later in the year I believe starting with June/July builds.

Re: QL Kneeling?

Random question. Whats with the Limited with quadralift whining when turning?

Last week I was at the dealer and I was waiting outside sitting on the bench and 3 Wk2s with the quadralift had a low pitched whine when turning. What's the deal with that?

Random I know but I was wondering. And found it odd.

If they have the 3.6 engine, you were probably hearing the electric power steering pump.

Re: QL Kneeling?

I have an early 2014 with QL but not the auto-park ride height. I would disable it though, excessive wear and tear.

Re: QL Kneeling?

auto-entry-exit when going into park is somewhat less useful than it seems -- it takes a while to make the height change.

I've gotten used to hitting the 'down' button as I approach the driveway or a parking space to give it a head start.. but still my wife usually opens the door and stops it before it is down.

Re: QL Kneeling?

Gotcha.

I rarely bail out the moment the pistons come to a halt. Usually I have a few seconds of shutting stuff down, unbuckling, gathering up all my (stuff).

Kneeling is less useful to me, in general. Im tall enough that a few inches (of clearance) dont matter much.

But my wife says that is one of the biggest selling points for her. (although at 5'10" she is tall enough that it shouldnt matter to her either.)

However, having had one day in a kilt, I can empathize with her consternation with exiting and entering my Wrangler.
Kudos to the Ladies.... - Jeep Wrangler Forum

However, when she parks, she seems to spend (forever) attending to girl-stuff before she gets out. Hopefully that'll buy the JGC enough time to gracefully kneel and allow her highness to exit gracefully.

And the lack of a running board will keep her from getting the all too telling mud-stripe on the inside of the left leg.

Win-Win

V.
