Quadra Drive II Available on V6

My dealer didn't seem to know if the QDII was available on the V6??? If not, can someone tell me why it isn't?

Thanks,

Re: Quadra Drive II Available on V6

One again, a clueless dealer on their own products! Not sure on the QDII but the QTII is standard on the Overlands or Summits.

5-Speed Automatic Transmission
Quadra-Trac II® 4WD System

Re: Quadra Drive II Available on V6

Thanks. He thought it was only available on the V8. There was no option to choose the QDII with V6.

Re: Quadra Drive II Available on V6

Quadra-Drive II is not available with the V6. During the September 8 chat with Jeep engineers they stated that the V6 driveline was not compatible with Quadra-Drive II. Search the chat for their responses, or here is one link about it; see my Post #6:
Why no Quadra-Drive II on a V6?

It was frustrating for me to discover this, since the June/July 2010 'Build Your Own' Jeep sites had allowed you to configure the V6 with QDII (I have printed PDF outputs to prove it). Anyway, that is history now.

Quadra-Trac II with my V6 had been fine through the past winter.

Re: Quadra Drive II Available on V6

Thanks Cherodude, I thought I saw the same thing when I was building my own, a while back.

Re: Quadra Drive II Available on V6

Cherodude,

I did a little research and can't find a definitive answer. What is the main difference between the QDII and the QTII?

Thanks,

QDII has a limited slip differential at the rear. QTII relies on brakes for traction control at both ends.

Re: Quadra Drive II Available on V6

In the WK2 the main difference is that Quadra-Drive II has an electronic limited slip differential at the rear axle (but NOT at both axles like the WK 2005-2010 version of Quadra-Drive II). QTII relies on braking to manage wheel slippage at the rear axle.

Both QT II and QDII in the WK2 use the same transfer case.

Note that some of the older Jeep sites that describe their various 4WD systems have not been updated to keep up with all the annual tweaks to the systems.
