Quadra Drive II in Summit

While waiting for the '14s to preview I was making some comparisons between the Overland and Summit using the "Build and Price" feature at Jeep.com. The difference in price equipped with a V8 and Off Road II package was less than I expected. As I looked into it, I found that Quadra Drive II did not seem to be available on the Summit, while it was automatically added on the Overland with these options. Is this a quirk on the website or is QD II not available on the Summit?

Or am I just messing something up with my inputs. That's always a probability.

Re: Quadra Drive II in Summit

I think you're right. QTII is standard and it appears there is no way to add QDII as an option. Must be a glitch on the website (I would hope)!

Re: Quadra Drive II in Summit

Quadra Drive is standard on the V8 Summit, optional on the Overland. So you won't see it as a Summit selectable option. It is listed in the std equipment. Because QD is standard on the Summit, the ORAII price is less than the Overland's.

Re: Quadra Drive II in Summit

Standard equipment says QTII on the Summit but perhaps that is because the 6 is standard. Thanks for the clarification.

Re: Quadra Drive II in Summit

When I add V8 to the Overland it adds QD II and the price is $2890

When I add V8 to the Summit it does not add QD II and the price is $2175.

The standard equipment remains QT II and there is no mention of QD II in the options.

Re: Quadra Drive II in Summit

I would expect that kind of info, QD is standard on the V8 Summit.

See WK2Jeeps.com for a complete run down of standard equipment and what is in option packages in perhaps a better format.

Re: Quadra Drive II in Summit

Why would you expect the Jeep website to list Quadra Track II when pricing a Summit 4x4 with V8 if Quadra Drive was standard for that configuration?

I see what wk2jeep.com is listing, but that is different than what Jeep's official site is showing.

Re: Quadra Drive II in Summit

Think marketing. QD is standard on my 2011 Overland, but it is not mentioned on the window sticker. QT-II is however. Perhaps marketing thinks QTII is a big deal and requires emphasis where QD is not so much.

If you want to make sure you are ordering a vehicle with QD, for some reason Jeep likes to make it hard. They like to leave out one thing or another. You need to sit down at a dealer to find out the details and restrictions, its just not covered that well on line. The WK2 site seems to be accurate, however. But its not up to date on order restrictions (you can't always order QD regardless).

So don't be thinking that QD defines the entire drive system. QD simply adds rear ELSD and some software to the QT II system.

Since QuadraDrive II is QuadraTrac II plus ELSD. You will see QTII listed separately on all vehicles. It is required for the QD add on. On the window sticker, most of the time you won't see QD listed separately (unless it was an option) but sometimes ELSD is mentioned. I suppose relatively few customers want or are looking for QD so the information gets lost in the details. The build sheet will list Quadra Drive II and ELSD, however.

On my 2012 Overland the QD2 was not on the window sticker. When I pointed this out to the dealer he was purplexed. He couldn't believe that the off road II package mentions everything except the QD2 part. It was on the build sheet and on the EVIC display when I started the truck. It almost seemed like Jeep was trying to hide that feature. Bottom line is I have the QD2 as I wanted, but the search to verify it was a chore.

Same here. Window sticker shows QTII but vehicle has QDII. I'm not complaining, but think it's strange that it's not clearly stated on the sticker. It doesn't show the remote start either. Must be a Jeep thing not to include all installed equipment on the window sticker?

Well, apparently you didn't order the "Expanded/Enhanced Sticker" option...
