Quadra-Lift Ground Clearance Numbers

I am curious to know what exactly is the Off-Road 2 ground clearance height for '14 and '15 year models? In some literature it says 10.8 inches while others point out 11.1 to 11.3 inches. Is the NRH approx 8.7 inches? The User Guide says Off-Road is approx 2.2 inches higher which should make this 10.9. Others might be able to chime in and fill in the approx ride heights. Thanks.

NRH-
Off Road 1-
Off Road 2-
Park (Entry/Exit)-
Aero-

Re: Quadra-Lift Ground Clearance Numbers

I think the older QL did the higher ground clearance. People complained about it banging at the top of the suspension travel when in OR II mode so they backed off with the later QL, resulting in slightly less ground clearance.

I have a 2015 with QL and I've just presumed I have the lesser clearance number. I figure it's a safe presumption. It's still more than my Outback.

Re: Quadra-Lift Ground Clearance Numbers

Here's what my understanding was for a 2015 (from memory, so probably not perfect):
NRH- 8.7"
Off Road 1- 9.7"
Off Road 2- 10.7"
Park (Entry/Exit)- 7.7"
Aero- 8.2"

[edit: the video below my post would seem to indicate 7.1" for Park and 10.8" for OR II. I was close.]

Re: Quadra-Lift Ground Clearance Numbers

FWIW if you're aired down at all, make sure to account for that. Also, just b/c static ground clearance is 10" or whatever, don't forget that if you come off a rock or something too quickly, you'll bounce a little bit, further increasing the likelihood of making contact w/ something. I think you'd be lucky to be able to count on 9" of clearance. That in mind, I think it's a static clearance of 10"-10.5" in ORA II.

Re: Quadra-Lift Ground Clearance Numbers

As long as we're straining at millimeter/0.1" increments, don't forget the OD of your tires, if they're stock then Summit 20" vs Overland 18" results in a nominal 1 mm difference in suspension height.

Or perhaps you swapped for aftermarket tires.

Brand new tire tread will also likely have about 9mm/0.3" worth of suspension height in tread depth that could vary down significantly due to wear.

I wonder how precise one really can accurately be about this kind of stat.

Probably most useful when driving on a trail with calibrated rocks with clear height markings every few millimeters.

Re: Quadra-Lift Ground Clearance Numbers

I didn't measure the exact number but here are few videos I made to show the raising and lowering for the Quadra-Lift system.

LOL, if you play with the video's slider you can make the Jeep pop up and down really fast. Looks funny!
