Think about it some more.........

The differential is attached TO THE CHASSIS and connected to the drive axles through CV joints. When the vehicle rises up it takes the differentials with it.

FWIW, IME, the lowered aero ride height and sport mode are nearly as valuable as the increased QL ride heights and OR select terrain settings.

To the OP's point, if you value more cush and tire patch for trail, then maybe go with the slightly larger diameter AT rubbers that 1jake, Chibianh, and other members are using effectively. If you value mixed terrain including pavement at speed, maybe stick to stock rubber to keep the WK2 lowest to the ground. YMMV.

Well you learn something new every day. I just went out and crawled under and looked, and sure enough it's as you say. Thanks for the education. I've never had a vehicle before that didn't have a solid rear axle and I had to see it for it to sink in.
