Quadra lift question

Every time take my '11 Overland to the dealer I specifically request that they lock the air suspension before raising it, but when I get it back from being serviced at, it's in the highest Off Road 2 position. I believe they aren't locking it before they raise it in the air, and the air shocks are bleeding down and extending to the highest (longest extension). One shock has already been damaged and replaced under warranty.

My question is: If I lock the air suspension in the "normal" height, locked by holding the Up and Down buttons, then raise the vehicle in the air, with the air suspension remain in the normal position when its put back on the ground? The dealer told me today when I raised hell about it that it normal for the air suspension to be in the OR 2 position when put back on the ground. Anyone know for sure? My extended warranty is going to be up soon and don't want to be replacing the air shocks on my dime because of the dealers error. Thanks.

My last GC was an '11 with QL. The one time I took it to the dealer for service that required it to be on a lift, I lowered and locked the QL when I drove it in the shop (per the owner's manual). When I got it back it was in the OR2 position. I remember because I thought it peculiar they would leave it that way.

I have had two Mercedes S Classes with air suspension (2000 and 2007) and my wife's 2011 Land Rover has air suspension. There's no provision to lock the S Class in a "down" position. When they are raised on a lift they come back to the ground in a "high water" stance until started and the car sets the correct height.

The Land Rover can be locked "down" and though I have never set it that way for service on a lift (or known to do so), that is the way it has been returned to me each time it has been to the dealer. So apparently that should be done if an air suspension vehicle is going up on a lift, and the vehicle has a "down" setting. If the LR dealer knows what they are doing.

From owners manual...

WARNING!
The air suspension system uses a high pressure
volume of air to operate the system. To avoid personal
injury or damage to the system, see your
authorized dealer for service.
Air Suspension Modes
The Air Suspension system has multiple modes to protect
the system in unique situations:
Tire/Jack Mode
To assist with changing a spare tire, the air suspension
system has a feature which allows the automatic leveling
to be disabled. Refer to “Uconnect® Access Settings” in
“Understanding Your Instrument Panel” for further information.
NOTE: This mode is intended to be enabled with engine
running.
Transport Mode
To assist with flat bed towing, the air suspension system
has a feature which will put the vehicle into Entry/Exit
height and disable the automatic load leveling system.
Refer to “Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC)”
in “Understanding Your Instrument Panel” for further
information.
NOTE: This mode is intended to be enabled with engine
running.
Wheel Alignment Mode
Before performing a wheel alignment this mode must be
enabled. Refer to “Uconnect® Access Settings” in “Understanding
Your Instrument Panel” for further information.
NOTE: This mode is intended to be enabled with engine
running.

"Locking" does not lock the position. I believe all it does is disable the auto load leveling. It also depends on how your vehicle is lifted if it will come back on OR2. Mine never has been returned at OR2. I can't speak for my dealer's lifts, but my tire guy uses a ramp that falls away and supports on the axles.
