Re: Question regarding Laredo vs Limited

This thread is so "me". When I was shopping I wanted a charcoal Laredo with the 17" wheels, V6 and OR-1 because I did not want: the Hemi, the sunroof, the HVAC controls of the X-Package/Ltd, the wood trim, the stock 18" wheels/tires. I drove salepeople nuts. After trying to find what I wanted, I "settled" on my silver Limited with the sunroof, with the Hemi, with 20" wheels, etc. and have no regrets. I simply loved the look, the Hemi won me over with better economy than expected and the sunroof is now something I cannot imagine living without. What I'm trying to say is, you may end up buying something completely different than what you think you want.

Re: Question regarding Laredo vs Limited

Don't think anybody mentioned that the limited comes with power liftgate on top of the other things mentioned. Its a must have for me and very convenient.

It's not standard. That comes with the tech/luxury group which then also gives you power telescoping wheel and ventilated seats.

Re: Question regarding Laredo vs Limited

Sorry in Canada it is standard . They only make one trim level for limited's which is the lux2 .

The single pane roof instead of pano knocks $395 off of the Limited price. It's also available on the Laredo as a $850 option.

Re: Question regarding Laredo vs Limited

We just ordered our new Limited this week. We opted for the "single pane" sunroof as well. My wife didn't want the big one. It knocked off $345 on the sticker.

Re: Question regarding Laredo vs Limited

I wound up with a Hemi Leredo X-Package + Nav + Offroad 1 + Trailer Hitch. Total MSRP $40,380, which came with Select-Terrain and QuadraTrac II (part of Offroad 1 pkg), remote start (part of X-package), and 430N (Nav).

It's a personal preference, but I really don't like the polished wheel look, or chrome mirrors (to me they both look like what people were doing in the after market ten years ago), and I didn't care about the rear heated seats or the sunroof. Just my personal preference, others will certainly prefer the chrome look. I'm the only driver, so not having memory seats works well for me also.

I paid $38,000 for the car, which I think was a very fair price. I got everything that I wanted from the limited without the stuff I didn't want. I also prefer the 18" wheels. Because I do a fair amount of mid-level off-roading in the summer I think that I'm better off with the 18's than the 20's.

My only disappointment was the Michelin Latitude Tour (minivan style) tires that it came with. I found a local tire shop that gave me $300 on trade for them and wound up with four new LTX M/S2 tires for a great price. They just look right on the car, like it should have come with them. The tires that it came with would have been good for about 75,000 miles, and it seemed like a crime to spend that much time driving a brand new car with tires that didn't really meet my needs (Rocky Mountain snow storms).

I couldn't be happier with the car!

Re: Question regarding Laredo vs Limited

vikingdave,
I also dis-like the chrome mirrors. One of the detractors for me on the Limited. But I figure I will be able to change that eventually. And, I also agree that the Latitudes are the wrong tire. Especially if you order the ORA package, like you did. Since I didn't get that package I can understand receiving the minivan cruiser tires. But not with the ORA pack.

Jeeters,
My point on the sun-roof was that if you are looking at an off-the-lot Jeep it maybe a tough option to comeby since it wasn't an option for a while.

Bmwister,
I stared out the same as you, Laerdo X with ORAI package. But I wanted the pano-roof, leather & Nav. Then, I sat in a limited and the wood grew on me and for the price (nearly identical) I figured i'd go with the Limited. I'd probably be in an Overland if it wasn't for the standard QL.

Again, the point is to love what you drive and the new Wk2 is a great vehicle so whatever you choose you will be happy. But, dont settle on a model . If you want an Overland and can only afford a Laredo, then wait a year because you will not be happy. You will be "stuck" in a vehicle for your entire lease or finance period, unless you are into loosing money.

Easier terms, it lights up the night... and people unfortunately constantly "flash" me because they think I have my brights on, until I flash them back and they just look dumbfounded.

Humm thats not right you should not be getting flashed if your HID projectors are aimed correctly. I dont know why they wouldnt be aimed correctly right from the factory, but I guess I have seen worse things happen so I would believe it. I would get that checked out because HID projectors put out an incredible amount of light under the beam cutoff and thats not fun.

I think its on occasion where my vehicle is on a slight incline higher then their vehicle, thus the light is shining high. Or people with small cars, but even then I notice the light generally stays below their trunk/tailgate when behind a small car so I think its probably setup correctly.

I also don't like the chrome. I think it makes the vehicle look cheesy, not classy.

Yup. The only reason I posted again about the single-pane roof is that after I originally posted, I realized didn't clarify that for the Limited, it knocks the price down, but for the Laredo, it knocks it up.
