Re: Question(s): ordering overland

And another thing, voice input sounds great and all but most systems I have used are a PITA to use and don't work worth a flip half the time. Plus, are you really going to use the NAV every single day? I have a nav system in all of my vehicles(factory and Garmins) and rarely ever use them. And when I do, the Garmin(which is what the 430N has) units are much easier to work with than the factory Nav in my Suburban and wifes TSX.

Like Cperez said, I would be all over that vehicle, especially since you will probably be able to get a much better price on it.

Excellent point. I meant to mention that and forgot. Music and phone features, OTOH, will be used virtually every time you're in the vehicle whether you're on a milk run or cruising cross-country.

If audio streaming is important to you, make sure the radio you get works right with your device. I believe the 430N supports streaming audio from the iPhone 4, but as mentioned above the 730N has more features.
I own an iPhone 4 - tried it out at an Overland (430N) at the dealership in mid-December. The good news is the Uconnect phone stuff worked flawlessly. The bad news is the audio controls failed miserably. Bluetooth streaming audio did not work at all. Plugging the iPhone into the USB port in the front of the radio didn't work. Plugging it into the USB port in the center console produced music with skips etc. that sounded terrible.

So I passed on an otherwise nice Overland and decided to wait until I could order the 730 RHR.

Disclaimer: It's entire possible that software updates for either the iPhone 4 (mine was current) or the 430N could improve the situation.

The trick to the streaming and console audio is locking the screen on your phone. If you are scrolling through songs or using the phone it will skip. Locking the screen and putting the phone away works perfectly on my 430.

Re: Question(s): ordering overland

Just an FYI to the original poster.

I know you mentioned mineral gray with saddle and that will obviously be hard to come by.
A local dealership to me Naperville Jeep in naperville, IL near Chicago actually has in stock (not a sold order) mineral gray Overland 4x4 Hemi V8 with adaptive cruise package on the their lot for sale now. I was actually speaking with one of the salesman there that was real nice but did not work out a deal with them as they couldnt match the price I was gonna get from a different dealer. Just thought I would let you know.

Re: Question(s): ordering overland

That's odd, that one in Naperville is not showing up on cars.com any more but I recall seeing it when I was doing my daily (ok, hourly-- ALRIGHT, I was hitting refresh every 2 minutes!!) searches.

cars.com advanced search tool was the key for me.

Hmm, it's possible that that might have helped with the wired connection; but the BTSA would not work a lick. I'll state this again though: It is quite possible that updated SW would address this.

Humm I dunno its still on their actual dealer site. Like I said it could be sold but that combo right there would be a hot one. Mineral with saddle, pano roof, V8 adaptive cruise....thats the way to go right there :-) its too bad they wouldnt work on the price that much so I had to order one from another dealer.

Re: Question(s): ordering overland

I'm in the same situation. I've been waiting to order a Mineral Gray V8 Overland with Saddle and 730n. Hopefully by the end of the week... My dealer tells me the Saddle restriction is off and available to order, and 730n "may" come off by the end of the week.
This vehicle combo is also at a dealer south of Tulsa, one in Houston, and one in Orange County, CA. All will have 430n though.

The saddle restriction is done now??? Milous can you confirm anything here?

Also, tomorrow was supposed to be the date that the new 730N will be available to order. Also looking to get confirmation on that as well.

Can anyone comment about this information?

EDIT: Just spoke with a dealership and tried to talk with a sales manager. he said you can order saddle on a normal overland but he told me it was never on restriction. So now I have no idea if I can even believe this guys because I told him I ordered an Overland on the 4th and it was not possible to place an order for it. He said he was looking at the computer now and you could. He was probably at Jeep.com LOL moron

Im waiting for my dealership to call me back that I actually ordered mine from. All the managers were in a meeting so hopefully I can get ahold of someone who actually has a clue.

Re: Question(s): ordering overland

Spoke with my dealership and he said he is still showing an R next to Saddle for the Overland which means restricted. I was more or less curious but I have decided I want the beige interior more anyway. Probably would be quicker to get that to.
