Keep your extended warranty money in your pocket until its close to the time for the original to expire, then before that go to a few dealers and negotiate that price, you'll save some cash like that.

By the way you can change the bitrate of your mp3 songs and increase the quality of what you hear especially older songs, the file will be a little larger but the song quality will be better to the ear. We all aren't buying the 2014 summit with the supposed killer sound system which I haven't heard yet but it's supposed to be better then anything else the jeep line has currently as far as power and clarity but that subjective to the individual, adjusting your bitrate will help the songs sound that you put on your sd card,USB drive etc...

Has anyone ordered a Summit and taken delivery and what was the time frame from order to delivery?

The summit is going to be any other of the models coming off the line. Expect 4-8 weeks for delivery.

Just test drove a 2014 summit, very impressive vehicle. I had the V8,the sound system is really nice,I haven't heard the Overlands yet but I've heard the summits is supposedly a little better. I did notice while on the highway a slight odor coming from the air vents occasionally kinda like a burning olive oil smell, nothing too crazy though but the car had 4 miles on it when I got it so maybe there's some things that have to burn off. The highway driving was smooth and steady,it does seem like the steering is a little light and there's just a little less road feel to the steering wheel in my opinion but it's still very good. The seats weren't too hard but coming from a 2004 limited where they padded the seats like a lazy boy the summit seats still had a good fit. I didn't hear any of the rattles or subtle sounds others have said they've heard with the radio all the way down and the fit and finish were very good. I'm definately taking the plunge on an overland that's for sure. I did like how the truck lowered itself at highway speeds and there's a light on the dashboard that illuminated and said..aero mode.. When getting off the highway you could feel the truck returning to a higher stance for street driving. Overall I enjoyed the drive and Chrysler has improved this product tremendously. I did notice a smother transition in the transmission when I switched off the Eco mode, with it on you can hear the trans going through all the gears and searching..not a bad thing just an observation. The truck was very quiet and seemed to be insulated from exterior noise very well and I really liked the dash where you can configure all the info..really cool.

Re: Questions on Placing a JGC Order with Dealer

I am fairly new to the forum and have ordered a Summit. In following the steps of the order, what exactly are the steps? I see like "D1" for example but what is that?

This! Once you find a dealer that agrees to your pricing and you like the terms they set, then you can meet face to face and proceed with the process. I asked all the questions via email, what kind of deposit was required, how long till they would order, would they agree to 2% off invoice. All dealers are different and emailing them will take away the pressure of negotiating face to face.

Re: Questions on Placing a JGC Order with Dealer

I guess I'm old school. I like to negotiate face to face. Of course there's only three dealers locally for me to deal with, so not a lot of leg work. I guess I live in a different world than most of the folks on this forum. I don't text because I think if somethings important enough to reach out to you, I want to talk, and there's nothing like facetime to exchange ideas. But then again, I remember party lines, and picking up a phone and hearing "number please".

But I have to admit, exchanging ideas on a forum like this is cat's ass!
