Not as good a deal now. :\ Too bad, I really got my hopes up.
There has been like 8 editions of that 2014 manual you were probably looking at one of the early ones the later versions have correct. Bottom line is though they have been on the road for two years and the dealer knew he was lying to you. Just trying to help you out dealers will rob you blind if you dont watch them every second. Sorry your deal didnt work out

So $1000 for tires and another $1200 for stuff you didnt need to make the 2200 they wanted.

Good catch. I've called it off. Seriously, I don't know why I'm even tempted by this deal. All I'd get is the new car smell. And that'll wear off well before the 19 months are over!

I've got max care unlimited so it isn't even about future warranty repairs or anything. Now, if they had had a diesel overland in stock... That'd be a different story!

Re: Quick help needed!

To simplify things and make sure that they can't obfuscate the deal, I've broken it down into the component parts. The trade and the sale considered separately. I've emailed the dealer with these number explicitly laid out and everything including the taxes and fees are included in my proposal. If they take my offer, it'll be a good deal. If they don't, c'est la vie.

The numbers are close to what they proposed but without the hand waving to make it seem like a screaming deal. I'm glad I walked away to get some time to think and bounce the numbers off you guys! I'm headed back to the lot anyway today to pick up my truck after the service (just oil change and recall repairs).

Thanks for the help.

Re: Quick help needed!

Cool. I managed to locate an overland diesel. Got them to agree to the same payments as my current terms. Now it's a good deal.

It's there something I should know about the diesels? I've read up on them but I might have missed something.

There are sub-forums on this site with numerous threads out here on the diesel. And yes, it comes with it's own share of issues, peculiarities and additional maintenance costs over a gas engine. Only you can decide how much any of that would be potential issues for you versus what you're willing to live or work with.

Re: Quick help needed!

The deal is done. I believe it was a good one. Not the greatest but I ended up about 4% below invoice with no money out of pocket. And it's the diesel I wanted when I got frustrated with waiting for Chrysler to get the line moving in 2013. I've missed that diesel growl.
