So I received the R40 recall notice (software vulnerabilities that can allow
third-party access to certain networked vehicle control systems) in the mail yesterday for the radio software update. Along with the letter came attached a small USB card which gives you the option to update yourself instead of taking it to the dealer (nice touch). I did this last night and all went smoothly. Now after the update, I have Sirius XM again. I had let the 12 month free subscription expire a year ago so I was without XM. Anyone else encounter this? Did I re-activate the 12 month free subscription with the software update? I'll take the free ride for now and will check our credit cards to make sure there are no charges. What do you think, should I call Sirius about this or let it ride?
