Rain sensing wipers or not

Had a chance to use my wipers this morning in my 2015 High Altitude and I was wondering if they are rain sensing or not? I turned them on to what is normally the most delay setting and they started wiping and did not stop, then they wiped even faster - like on high speed, then they slowed to low speed.

I ask this because my window sticker said nothing about rain sensing wipers and neither does the Jeep site when you bring up a HA window sticker.

Rain sense wipers are standard on the Overland so the HA would have this.

Rain sense replaces what would be the normal intermittent wiper feature.

In the U-Connect settings you can set the wipers to come on automatically if it senses rain on the windshield so with that enabled they become auto wipers. On mine, I don't care to have that feature enabled. If I need the wipers I just turn them on like I've done on every other vehicle I've owned.

I first had the rain sense wipers when they came out on my 02 and I really like the feature.

LOVE the rain sensing wipers and they work surprisingly well. So well infact to this day I don't think I have ever had to touch my wiper selector as they seem to work that good. You can change the sensitivity as well it's like the first 3 or 4 positions. I think mine is on the second one down and just works really well.

Only time I've turned mine off is when using the car wash.
Otherwise they're set and forgot.

Same here. I would forget to even turn them off there if the sign at the wash didn't remind me. It's a great feature that makes me an even lazier driver :)

Mine seem to have a mind of their own in that in the first setting they don't clear the windshield fast enough ie too much water on the windshield to properly see. I'm gonna clear the rain sensor module lenses this weekend and see if that works. If not, warranty claim.

I came from a 13 audi Q5 that had rain sensing as a distinct setting (versus variable sensitivity). Maybe I just need to get further aquatinted with the controls and maybe there just not a good as the audi. The other night I tried eveything and couldn't get the window to clear without going to fully on wipers.

I turned off my rain sensing for the exact reasoning as CraigZ. I found the speeds to be far too varying. Theyre great if its a good rain storm but if its a mist or light rain I find the speed and consistency vary too greatly.

Its not that hard to turn a knob and I can get the exact speed that I want depending on the weather.

I agree the rain sense work irratic heavy rain is fine but lite rain they are all over the place. One thing i started doing that helped a little is changing my wiper blades twice a year instead of once a year, I think they like a very clean wipe to work correctly. On the other hand the auto diming high beams work flawlessly though that is one feature they got just right.

Definitely not a fan of rain sensing wipers. I've had them on an '04 WJ, '07 BMW and now my '14 WK2 and they've all been equally as erratic. Thankfully I can turn the feature off on my WK2. I can't believe the technology for the system hasn't improved in the last 10+ years.

I posted a separate thread a bit a go on rain sense wipers as an an aftermarket option but figured you guys might be a better source of info. Does anyone know if it's possible to add rain sense wipers if it didn't come with the jeep? I see you can by the sensor from mopar.
