Rattle sound from rear interior, anyone else have it?

I did a search and couldn't find a thread on it but I can swear I saw it being talked about. So I apologize if this is a repeat.

I have a rattle sound coming from somewhere towards the rear of my 14 GC, which I thought was the license plate and frame but I finally decided I had enough and I took the whole unit off and drove around and its still there on certain roads. t sounds exactly like the rattle of the license plate and frame . I really think its coming from inside in the rear area. Has anyone else had this and knows what and where it is? Im going in to have the oil changed and would like to tell them where to look for it.
I appreciate any info,,
Thanks

Could very well be the Retractable Cargo Cover; mine rattles when I go over rough roads.

I know there was an issue with the pano roof glass pane, the one which doesn't open....heres a link to the TSB:

Please carefully look at the date range of affected vehicles to see if your falls within that range. Good luck!

Re: Rattle sound from rear interior, anyone else have it?

I have the what sounds like the exact same rattle in mine. I usually notice is when accelerating from a stop and coming to a stop. It drives me insane and I've also checked the license plate, everything under the car in the rear and tapped on all the panels to recreate it...nothing.

The sound is best described as a *click* when the car lunges or moves. I swear it's something rolling around that gains momentum.

I'd be curious to know if the OP has the sunroof? I don't and that's what everyone always points to with the rattle, so I'm eager to find out if anyone else can source the problem.

Re: Rattle sound from rear interior, anyone else have it?

Thanks for the responses,,
Here are some specifics on my GC Laredo 4X4.
No Sunroof, No luggage/cargo cover in back, and the rear glass tsb doesnt apply to my vehicle. My rattle is noticeable by road vibration not taking off or stopping. When I drive on certain roads Ill notice something rattling from rear interior. I went out this morning and started tapping an trim pcs. and I found it might be coming from the plastic internal side rear trim pcs right and left to the right of flashlight and left of power outlet. I had to knock on them trying to replicate road vibration but it seemed I had to knock harder then the road would create to get a similar rattle sound ,, not sure if its the source or not. If it is do they come out easy? Doesn't seem like they would. Im going to look closer later today and do some more driving with my daughter in the back to listen,, should be able to pinpoint it with her help,, Ill let you know if that is the correct area for my rattle.
Thanks

Re: Rattle sound from rear interior, anyone else have it?

Ok we figured it out..
Its the inside rear plastic panel on the hatch. Right where the rear windshield wiper is, It rattles/vibrates against what ever is underneath it(possibly the wiper motor) and the glass.
Ill have them take care of that along with the rear shock clunk noise during the oil change.

Re: Rattle sound from rear interior, anyone else have it?

I have this same damn rattle. I hear it when I go over some bumps.

I too, thought it was the license plate/frame. Then I thought it was maybe the fin antenna. Then maybe the cargo cover bar. Then rear wiper.

So it's something behind that cover. I will have my dealer take care of it too when I feel like it. It's annoying.

I did notice that, the plastic panel in the rear, on the driver side, doesn't seem to "lock" in place, by looking along the gasket area of the rear opening. The passenger side looks tight and flush. But the driver side looks loose. You have this same "issue"?
