Real World MPG for the V6 and 8

Hi all.

For the past 6 years, most of my driving has been city- as evidenced by my 05 Murano having only 50K miles. My commute to work is only 3 miles! That may soon change, however, as my job has asked I now work part of the time in a town 1.5 hours away, and no way I am moving.

What kinds of real world MPG have people been observing in their V6 and V8 ?

I'm still trying to decide between the two. Thanks for the replies.

A lot is going to depend on where you live. Are their a lot of hills? Is it mostly flat? Climate and traffic. IMO I don't think the V6 is going to to any better then a V8.

Getting around 13 mpg city with a new 2012 V6. No highway, just a lot of lights Haven't done a just highway trip yet though. Of course I live near D.C. and some of the worst traffic in the county.

Oh and only about 300 miles.. so it will get better I know. As long as it beats my M3's average of about 16-18mpg ill be happy.

got 22.1 on the hemi last weekend. It was all highway and mostly flat. I was also driving super careful 'cause I wanted to see what mpg I could get. The wife usually gets between 17.5 and 18.5 driving back and forth to work. It does seem to like premium fuel though.

20 mpg city, flat roads not alot of traffic. 24-26 highway keeping it below 80. 2011 v6. Started getting better gas mileage after 4k on the odometer.

What city you are in, if you don't mind me asking? How many miles on the engine?
