Re: Realistic order-to-delivery times 4x4 Overland

I ordered my GC Overland from a Las Vegas dealer on 10-13-2011. Just got notice that it was built yesterday, so two weeks to the day (order to build). Mineral Grey, Saddle/Black, 5.7, 4x4, Adventure II. Shipping time estimated to Vegas, 2 weeks or less.

Angry Re: Realistic order-to-delivery times 4x4 Overland

Over 5 weeks and my dealer says my order is still in BX.
He tells me I should get used to a January delivery date!
I don't understand how people are getting theirs first and I ordered mine two weeks a head???

Re: Realistic order-to-delivery times 4x4 Overland

I signed up for updates from Milous and the status on my order is ready to ship. Estimated delivery to Vegas is 11-16. If it makes it, that will be just a few days past one month from order to delivery. I'm hoping it gets here real quick.

Re: Realistic order-to-delivery times 4x4 Overland

I talked to my dealer again, apparently he is saying the delay is due to the Pentastar V6. Apparently that engine is in high demand with the WK2 as well as other Chrysler vehicles and is what is causing the delay. On the 9th. I'll be six weeks into my order and still at BX.

Re: Realistic order-to-delivery times 4x4 Overland

I'm not so sure the dealers have the best info here. My tracking results show that it should ship any day and estimated delivery is 11-16. The dealer maintains that it won't even ship until 11-16 and I shouldn't expect it about the second week in Dec. We'll see who's closest.

Re: Realistic order-to-delivery times 4x4 Overland

Ordered 09/17. Loaded onto transportation unit 10/25. Arrived at dealer 11/04. Picked up 11/05.

Half of the central Connecticut is still without electrical power, so I didn't check in with my dealership until 11/03, when its power was restored. The dealer told me that Jeep ships cars from Michigan to a distribution center in New York before transporting them to dealerships in the Northeast. Mine finally showed up at the dealership on 11/04. Due to a misunderstanding, I wasn't able to pick it up until this morning. One benefit of the delay is that Jeep began offering a $1,000 cash incentive on 11/01, so I saved $1,000. My final purchase price including delivery was $41,900.

My 2012 Grand Cherokee Overland 4x4 V8 with Off Road Adventure II looks about perfect to me. Well, other than excessive chrome. It's mineral gray with the frost beige interior. I'd post photos, but I still only have Internet access through my iPhone. Other than excessive tire shine that was applied by the dealer, my only complaints so far are that the dealer put only 1/4 tank of fuel in it and, per State law, had to disable the ability of the head unit to play DVDs.

Are you saying the dealer has the ability to allow the Overland headunit to play DVD's (while not moving I'm sure) with a star scan tool? Do you know what menu to access? Or any info on how I can have my dealer do this before I pick up my Summit?

Thanks

Re: Realistic order-to-delivery times 4x4 Overland

I ordered a 2012 limited on 10/17. Dealer told me about 8 weeks total. But as of Friday they still haven't received the Von or the Vin numbers. This tuesday will be three weeks and I don't understand why. There are people whom have ordered over a week after me and they have theirs. Starting to get frustrated over this. Dag-nabbit.

I think the dealer is going to lose this one. Just got notice from Milous that mine was ready to ship today from West Jefferson. 24 days from order to ship.

Re: Realistic order-to-delivery times 4x4 Overland

My Limited, ordered 10/1 has been sitting at 'shipping' for 2 weeks. Dealer told me it would be in a week ago origiinally, but now they are saying another week. Why would there be such a delay in getting the vehicle on a truck and delivered?
