Rear defroster on with remote start?

Is there a setting for this? Heated steering wheel and seats come on when it's below 40. Why not the mirrors and rear too?

Re: Rear defroster on with remote start?

There isn't a setting for this to come on with remote start. Don't know why.

Re: Rear defroster on with remote start?

Maybe it does on the 2012, but I can't find anything about it in the 2014 manual.

The latest reflashes from the dealership fixed this for me.

Now when I remote start on a cold morning, my drivers seat, steering wheel, outside mirrors, and rear window defrost all come on automatically.

Re: Rear defroster on with remote start?

2015: manual says the heated mirrors and rear window defroster only stays on for 10 minutes. Are you entering the vehicle after the 10 minute time ? The manual does not specify what turns on with the comfort setting when the vehicle is remote started.

Comfort Systems — If Equipped
When remote start is activated, Auto-Comfort will work
anytime the temperature conditions are correct when the
feature is enabled regardless of remote start or regular
keyless go start. and driver heated seat features will
automatically turn on in cold weather. In warm weather,
the driver vented seat feature will automatically turn on
when the remote start is activated. These features will
stay on through the duration of remote start or until the
ignition switch is turned to the ON/RUN position.
The Comfort System can be activated and deactivated
through the Uconnect® system. For more information on
Comfort System operation refer to “Uconnect® Settings”
in “Understanding Your Instrument Panel”.

Re: Rear defroster on with remote start?

Under 40 degrees my 2015 turns on the rear defroster automatically as well. There is no setting for it, it is based on outside temperature.

Re: Rear defroster on with remote start?

I got the latest flashes about a week ago. My rear defroster was on this morning on my 2014 Overland when I remote started it. It was about 25 degrees outside. Honestly I can't remember whether or not it came on before or not.

Glad updates are turning it on. It's always annoyed me.

Re: Rear defroster on with remote start?

My rear defroster on my 2014 comes on with remote start when the temperature is low enough as well.

These setting can't be changed? Would prefer the front defroster instead.

Re: Rear defroster on with remote start?

The front doesn't come on? It's on full blast for me, it does turn off and go to the previous setting when you open the drivers door though. If you open the front passenger door it'll stay on so you can check that way.
