Rear ended a Pontiac G6 today.

Thanks Jim. Insurance companies are on the roll. She is going to a doctor as she is stiff but that is to be expected. She lives in my subdivision so there is no avoiding her. Just checked on her and let her know the insurance claim is set up. Her car may be a write off or a bumper reskin and new trunk lid. Don't think an 06 G6 would command much of a black book value.

I'm a RCMP member so am very familiar with how the process roles and when you rear end someone no matter what scenario you are at fault. It rubs salt in the wounds when the officer that shows up to manage your report is not only a coworker but a high school mate lol. His first question "so how many beer did you drink today?" Lol this as I have my agent on speaker phone. As good ol Atlantic Canadians we take all this in stride and laugh about it as soon as we know everyone is ok.

Must say.. The Jeep is tough!

Re: Rear ended a Pontiac G6 today.

Mentioned the accident to my cousin who send cars to Sema for TSW wheels. He wants to set the Jeep up with an AFE Momentum CAI, TSW rims ( they own various brands) and a magnaflow exhaust. I guess he has contacts.

Yikes, could have been worse though. Were you just in awe of the sheer beauty of the G6 and got lost in the moment?

Man I like that but couldn't it cause more damage to my vehicle in the end? I'm just wondering how stout it is. Looks tough though. Nice ride.

It is well bolted in with heavy duty brackets.

What's the brand? Could be worth a look once mine gets her wounds healed.

That would have been handy. I actually got rear-ended in my '07 GC as well. I'm going to buy the beaver step for the back. Do you have anything in the back?

Re: Rear ended a Pontiac G6 today.

The front bar is a Black Horse as are the side pipes. I put a hitch receiver on and put a hitch bar. I can't think of the brand right now but it is a well known brand. I wanted to put a whole rear bumper guard on but it would interfere with the backup sensors.

Re: Rear ended a Pontiac G6 today.

When it's that small a damage, you are better off paying out of pocket.

Your insurance will go up more than out of pocket.

Unless it's no fault.

Also if you get another ticket or accident you really get screwed.

That is definitely out of pocket in MA if you were at fault.

Also out of pocket can keep it off car fax.

Different rules in Canada. It's my first accident so it doesn't affect my premium. Should I have another that's a different story. Tickets don't have an affect unless you change insurance companies. In 5 years I regain accident at fault forgiveness again. Certainly not going out of pocket as I would have to fix her car as well. Be a big bill. I do appreciate your advice though. Cheers.
