Rear Wiper Lift Out Of Way?

I tried to clean the glass. Tried folding it back like the front wipers, but it didn't want to budge. I didn't want to force it. So what's the deal?

Re: Rear Wiper Lift Out Of Way?

It is only designed to lift a few inches off the glass.

Re: Rear Wiper Lift Out Of Way?

The owner's manual ... what a terrible thing to waste.

"Lift the pivot cap on the rear wiper arm upward, this
will allow the rear wiper blade to be raised off of the
liftgate glass."

Re: Rear Wiper Lift Out Of Way?

Rear Wiper Blade Removal/Installation
1. Lift the pivot cap on the rear wiper arm upward, this
will allow the rear wiper blade to be raised off of the
liftgate glass.
NOTE: The rear wiper arm cannot be raised fully
upward unless the pivot cap is raised first.

Bill, You beat me by less than a minute!

What's this owners manual you speak of?

Bill, unlike some of us who do actually read the owners manual, it's been said that a vehicles owners manual is THE most unread book in the world.

Dude, you are so screwed.

Read the owner's manual!
Lift the pivot cap (pull out slightly with two fingers at the bottom of the cap and pull it back in the same direction the wiper lifts.

Have fun changing the wiper blade when it wears out!
Mine was crap in less than a year.
Replaced it with a Silblade.
Funny thing is...
It's the same size as the wife's RAV4.
The wiper arms actually look identical like they are from the same supplier.

I'm embarrassed to say I read the manual and already knew about the pivot cap. Us guys are supposed to leave the manual in the glovebox where it belongs and figure out all this stuff on our own. Or if we do read the manual we should remain silent about it and proclaim that we figured all this stuff out on our own. Manual? I ain't got no stinken manual.

Re: Rear Wiper Lift Out Of Way?

If you left the wiper down it would actually clean that nasty rear window.
