Recall work - anyone get it done?

As many of you know there was a recall on Jeep vehicles for the brakes. I've gotten at least 3 or 4 notices in the mail to get the work done. I've called the dealer numerous times to get the work done, but each time I had to make an appointment and they'd call me when they were ready to do it. It still hasn't been done and I put the appointment in late July/early August. I wrote Chrysler and the response I got was that I need to wait for the dealer since they get parts as they do the work.

So now that winter is coming and water freezing in the brakes can be an issue I think it would be best to get this work done. Have any of you gotten this recall work done?

Thanks!

Wow, seriously?
Your dealer sucks.

I had the brake recall done mid-summer.
I'm waiting on parts now for the driver's side visor.
And waiting on the official recall for the alternator.

Re: Recall work - anyone get it done?

Same problem.

Safety Recall with 2 year backlog???? Really Chrysler!

Seriously thinking of dumping the Jeep and getting a Japanese car, both Honda and Toyota dealerships in my area have dealers that treat people good. Recalls actually seem to get done. Companies actually seem to have parts. Unless I find an independent garage that uses non-Mopar parts from the aftermarket off road groups, I no longer see being able to own this thing for much longer.

The issue is parts, my dealer said 6 months minimum to get the parts for this recall. Mine luckily isn't included since its an March 2014 build.

To be fair, I had a brake recall on my Lexus, took 2 months to get the parts in.

Re: Recall work - anyone get it done?

I had the brake recall done on mine a few months ago and they had the shield in stock at that time. They did say if it would have needed the booster they were back ordered but mine just needed the shield.

Just a follow-up. Finally got this recall done on Thursday along with the sun visor recall. I'm glad it's finally done. So it took a few months since I made an appointment to finally get it done.

My shield was ordered June 16 - still haven't heard from the dealer.

I think I ordered around the same time. It's frustrating to think that a recall item would take so long, but as was stated earlier, Chrysler sends out parts as the dealer gets the job done. So, if one is completed, then they can order another part. It all depends on how fast your dealer is doing the recall jobs before you get it done.

I was actually shocked when I got the call that the part came in for my Jeep. It was almost like winning the recall lottery.

This delay may because they are suffering from the success they are having with sales.
Over a million of these trucks sold already, may take time to affect all these recalls and getting the parts out.

I figure the more recalls they have the better they will get at completing them in a timely fashion.

Just my 0.02 cents

My Service Advisor told me the same thing. I am 7th on the list for a TIPM, so I am looking at about 7 weeks until the dealer can even order the part for me. My first TIPM died, and the dealer replaced it with a TIPM that has the right turn signal and fog light wiring crossed (but at least my car starts/runs). Once it is fixed, I will be selling this Jeep. Won't be getting another Chrysler for a long, long time.
