Recovery Straps Capacity

Hi, i want to buy a recovery strap for my Overland 4x4 but i am confused on the 10k or 20k or 30k capacity of this straps? Why so much on a vehicle that weighs just almos 5k?
can someone explain how this works and which will i need for recovery from mudding?

Good rule of thumb i believe on winches is 1.5x weight.

So the 10K strap you should be fine. BUT straps you normally yank on so i would go with the 20k.

Think of it like this.... If you lay down and i stand on your chest you could propably support the weight. Now if get a run up ( jump off a chair onto your chest i would probably do some damage. Snatching is the build up of kenetic energy in the strap. Remember to make sure you have the right strap, A strap that is over rated will not strech as much and will like be trying to snatch someone out of a bog with a chain. Straps are designed to strech up to 20% of their original length.
