Re: Reliability

Had the SRT8 for three weeks before the headlight and housing had to be replaced. To make matters worse, it took over a week just for the part to make it to the dealership......

I have had two cylinder heads replaced, upper control arm, sway bar, axle shaft, hub bearing, strut, strut mount, spring, and soon to be a lower control arm. I have only owned the vehicle for 13 months. Needless to say I am beyond frustrated but have no idea what else to do other than let them keep doing the work.

Re: Reliability

I don't love consumer reports, but heres their reliability reporting for JGC. Clearly improved since the new model for both the V6 and V8.

4. dash rattle
5. Fuel pressure sensor inspection/replacement

I also just sold a 2007 IS350 and didn't have any major problems outside these 5 recalls and TSB's. 2 other issues I had were the power tilting mirrors stopped working, and rust showed up on one of the wheels. Both fixed under warranty.

While it was an unreal car and gave me 106k reliable miles, it didn't come without a few issues within the first 3-4 years of ownership.

Looking forward to my 2014 GC, but will get a warranty to protect myself. Chrysler may not make a Lexus, but they seem to make extended warranties very reasonable.
I stand corrected. I do remember them replacing the valve springs at a scheduled routine oil change due to the recall.

No gas pedal adjustment, I didnt have any issues with it, though they did send me a nice notice telling me not to jam my car mats under the gas pedal

I never had the cam start up noise, though others did complain of it on sites like this.

No dash rattle either.

No problems with my fuel pressure sensor either.

I'm not trying to flame Jeep. Im only agreeing with the quality report (or lack of quality/reliability)

Re: Reliability

I know you're not trying to flame, just saying every brand has their problems. Sorry you've had such bad luck with the Jeep so far...hopefully things improve for you.

Just remember that for every thread on here that includes a problem, there are thousands, or hundreds of thousands of perfectly happy GC owners.

did you get an extended warranty?

non-Lexus dealer trips sure must be a pain. As you know, you are legit treated like royalty at Lexus, and their loaner program is incredible. Many times, they even offered to come to my office and swap out my car for a loaner...but I always said no. The less time a mechanic drives my car, the better...haha.

Re: Reliability

I'm not necessarily unhappy with my 12 GC but it has had more problems than my other new cars had. Nissan Maxima & Honda Accord, zero problems in 80,000 miles of ownership on each. Waiting to bring my GC in for the climate control problem, after Jeep had no solution for the entire summer. Also getting ready to take it in as I believe the front bearings are starting to go bad. Nothing major but annoying none the less.
