Replacing Wood trim on dash & doors

Anyone know how to change the wood trim interior on the dash and doors of a 2011 Grand Jeep Cherokee. I have that high gloss black color so called wood trim on the inside, but want to change it to another color, like one of the other Grand Cherokee colors that look like real wood and noi that cheap black stuff.

Does that wood trim just peel off by adding a little heat source like a hair dryer or do I need to do something else to get it off.

Take a look at this:

Re: Replacing Wood trim on dash & doors

I'm surprised there's no mention of it in this interior trim removal doc. You might want to take a look anyway, useful doc.

I looked at that document but it didn't provide me with any insight of the "wood like" trim removal; maybe it's me.

Re: Replacing Wood trim on dash & doors

You can always cover it in vinyl in any color. Just a thought.

I personally hate wood trim inside cars.

I agree. I hate fake wood. How much will it cost to buy the real wood?

Re: Replacing Wood trim on dash & doors

I think the best option is to look into some vinyl options. theer are 1000's of options and Im sure wood printed vinyl is one. Yoiu may also like some of the carbon fiber prints as well. Any good vinyl shop can print it up for you and install it.

For the Overland trim, about $2,000.00.

Honestly, who cares if it's real or fake... you can't tell it unless you're told whether it's real or fake. I agree, the Laredo black "wood" trim looks better than the Limited or Overland.
