Thanks, tires are AT Khumo, 285,50,18 which I install along with 18 wheels for offroad trips.
For daily use in town i use the ones that came original which are 20 inch and nowadays I have Michelins.

So, no special prep or wrap for the water crossings? I like it, and look forward to trying mine in some water.

Hi Echo7tango,
I have a K&N installed..and yes, I had a cover for the air filter inside the engine compartment, I wasnt sure how deep was the water going to be, some other trucks had snorkels but I dont want to have one installed as foor my daily use in town I dont like the look of it, so basically what I had done is something like a metal box enclosing the air cone, it had an opening in the back to get the air..so at least with that I knew if I made a wave the water shouldnt get in, I was aware that if my hood got completely under water I would be in trouble but I let the trucks with snorkels go before me so I can say there were some risks but minimized as much as possible.

Rgds

Re: River crossing 4x4 having fun

Crossing rivers and heading up stream... man I hate that. I once did similar in my old XJ and had water up over the hood, to the base of the windshield... bubbling in around the shifter boot/transmission tunnel... to say I was a little panic'd is putting things lightly.
After that I avoided water like the plague... figured I got my "this one time" luck used up.
