Lifetime maxcare is still available for SRT the only FCA vehicles that you can't get lifetime maxcare on are Hellcats and diesels, we are getting it on ours when it shows up, that says something about a warranty when even a FCA technician is buying it.

Re: Rolled past 90,000 miles today...

I'll pass 90k on my '14 Overland in the next week or two. It has been the most enjoyable vehicle I've ever owned. Primarily trouble free until recently. I've got about $5k worth of repairs staring me in the face so I'm gonna take the hit and trade it in.

Re: Rolled past 90,000 miles today...

Greetings,

Just curious about how many of you folks have changed the battery? I am still on my original closing on 6 years now.

Thanx much.

Best for now.

Please let me know which brand you're going to buy that's guaranteed not to have two minor repairs necessary in 80,000 miles and 3 years. Just curious what the name is of the variety of grass that's perpetually greener.

Still on mine at 4.5 years. I usually change batteries around the 4 year mark to avoid having to jump it at the worst times, but I figured with the fancy AGM battery plus it's not baking under the hood, it should last longer. I'm going to let it fail to get a good baseline. But I have a portable jump starter on board just in case.

Re: Rolled past 90,000 miles today...

It's great to hear from the long time owners. I hope to join you in a few years. After buying my first Jeep I noticed how many older Grand Cherokees are out there and running strong. Maybe that's a bit of confirmation bias, but still they are out there on the road.

Re: Rolled past 90,000 miles today...

Anyone else notice all the 98-04 JGC's still on the road? It says a lot about the design (mechanical and visual). Sure stuff breaks and falls off (mirrors, window regulators, sun visors, etc). But they are worth keeping (and pouring some money into) because they are mechanically sound, easy to fix, and above all, still look good after 12-18 years (and 200K+ miles). I believe the same will hold true on the WK2's. I do worry about the hi-tech fancy options though (air suspension!). When that stuff breaks, you don't want to be forced to fix it just to operate an old vehicle valued at less than $5000.

1. Having things go wrong under 100k isn't all that common.

2. Like I said, 1 might be more easy to deal with if the dealer service wasn't awful.
