Running boards

I have a 2014 4x4 black altitude and I am really on the fence regarding adding running boards. I don't need them for ANY practical purpose other than aesthetics. Just looking for opinions on running boards and possible brands that are preferred. If I went with them I would go black for obvious reasons

Thanks everyone.

We have black round side steps with flat gripped sections to step on. It is hard to exit the vehicle without rubbing the back of your legs on the steps and getting road grime on your legs . Otherwise we like them.

Re: Running boards

I would like to add running boards to my 2014 Summit, my poor kids have a hard time getting in the car, lol. And I almost never put the vehicle into the easy exit height. Anyone with running boards have pics?

Re: Running boards

This is what I'm seriously considering:

Ionic CXV Running Boards Jeep Grand Cherokee 2011-2013 (Not Trailhawk, SRT, or Orvis)

Re: Running boards

I have the Ionic running boards, and am pretty happy with them:

Be aware they have a different model # for the 2014 vs the 2011-13 years.

Are these pretty easy to put on for the average person such as me?

Re: Running boards

Yes. There's small trick to getting the bolts started with the nuts & washers (ask once you have the product in hand and can see it), but it's otherwise a simple afternoon job with a couple rachets and a sawzall.

Just kidding about the sawzall

I checked my email and saw Sawzall and about dropped my phone. Good one!
I may get a set of these, been reading a lot about them on the is forum. I had the mopar nerf bars on my 11". They looked good but absolutely useless IMO.

Re: Running boards

My wife loves the Ionic boards on her Limited. She's 5 ft. and says she was getting to old to hike her cheek up high enough to get started and then drag herself in by pulling on the steering wheel. The Ionics are sturdy, have plenty of step room, and don't hang too low.

Re: Running boards

Out of curiosity, what's the weight limit? I've seen plenty of running boards leaning down, looking horrible.

Re: Running boards

I have a set in "Like New" condition...they were on my GC for 4 days (I'm getting the step rails instead). I'd be willing to let them go for $125 plus shipping. Original box and everything...ready for shipping. Send me a PM if interested.

Re: Running boards

Hey guys, first post! Has anyone purchased the Black Horse - 3" Round Side Steps? I like that there is a curve inwards at the ends. I'm just curious if there is a large gap between the steps and the GC - I can't seem to find any pics depicting this.
