Rust resistant hitch ball mount & tow ball?

I need to buy a couple ball mounts for various towing applications and was wondering if there are recommended mounts/tow balls that are less prone to rusting? Usually prefer to keep one of connected at all times so hoping I can find one that doesn't seem to rust as easily.

Would aluminum be the route to go for the mount and stainless for the ball? Tow weights won't be exceeding 2500lbs.

Thanks

Re: Rust resistant hitch receiver & tow ball?

Alum/stainless is the combo I use. Doesn't rust, looks great.

Look on Amazon .. There are some great solid alum ones on there.. Not cheap but nothing good ever is....
I have had one on my 2500 ram for 5 years and it looks brand new..... Plenty of capacity.....

Re: Rust resistant hitch receiver & tow ball?

And Convert-a-ball makes a nice stainless ball system.

They have 2 versions:
1 has the 1-7/8" and 2" balls, the other has 3 balls and a bigger shank.
(Yeah, I know but get your minds out of the gutter.)

What ever you buy make sure you lock it on with a key lock immediately or some SOB will steal that thing in a New York minute...

Agreed!
I lock the hitch into the receiver and when I use the convert-a-ball system I always keep the hitch balls inside the truck if I'm not towing a trailer.

I keep everything locked up....
Better safe than sorry.

The only time I don't use a lock on the trailer is if I'm just making a short trip, but the trailer get's locked up after being unhooked.
