Re: Sat in a Summit...love it!!!

It's overall a little too "chinzy" for me personally, but I can however see the attraction for some people.

No matter what, BIG congrats on your order Jeep brother!

Re: Sat in a Summit...love it!!!

The full upper saddle really does look great.....there is no way anyone can like the 2/3's Saddle in the Overland and not like the full Saddle in the Summit. From the outside (see front photos) the Saddle dash and upper seats and headrests look great esp. with the black steering wheel and black piping. Sorry about the poor photos...the lighting was terrible. It looks better in person. Also the vehicle was not fully dealer prepped yet either.

I should have gotten a close up on the wheels but I think the sales lady already thought I was a tad nuts.....so I didn't take a photo of the berber mats either. Saddle looks very rich.

The fog lamp bezels are smooth toward the front (maybe about an inch) then textured the rest of the way back. I'm pretty sure these are the polished wheels, not the bright polished wheels.

I'm telling you.....I am almost thinking of calling the dealer back this evening and taking the 4x2........very very very tempting.

I heard from my Saleswoman yesterday that my Summit now has a production date assigned. I guess I won't see anything from Milous until it makes D1. I wonder what ever happened to that bit where Jeep was going to E-mail us with status updates?

EDIT: Not sure "production date assigned" is right - I'll have to go check that E-mail.

Re: Sat in a Summit...love it!!!

it does look great... if you are able to go back tomorrow, try to snap a few more photos. let the dealer know you're on a jeep forum and there are a ton of potential buyers out there. that will change their tune.

i am curious about the wheels. mine is on order but i'm not 100% sure if i'm gonna dig the polished rims.

--- I think they need to get their production up and running first. But they sure need a full, comprehensive knowledge management system in place to function better....it would be worth every penny for them to do it.

--- It is about 45 minutes away with traffic. I'm only going back if I decide to take the 4x2!!! Soooooo tempted. The more I look at the photos the more tempted I am...... they're open until 9 pm tonight!

I'm dying to get mine too (hince being on this forum a lot) but to wait 3 months to get exactly what i want isnt that long. assuming i'll own this for 5 years, what's 3 months. but, if you do buy it that means we get more pictures so get in the car and go get it!!!

Re: Sat in a Summit...love it!!!

I can't fathom buying a 4x2 SUV...might as well get a van.

The more I look at it the less the interior bothers me...but that grill looks like a cheap aftermarket accessory, something you'd find from putco in the clearance section of an autozone.

Re: Sat in a Summit...love it!!!

Oh wow thats awesome that they decided not to do that goofy ass cowboy stitching up the sides of the seats. Thanks for the pics thats a HUGEEEE plus I still cant imagine why they had that to begin with on their pre-production models.

Awesome pics thanks!!

--- I know, but sooo tempted. I need to wait, right??? LOL

--- The saddle looks great in person. And with the black steering wheel wood and the black seat piping....excellent! I can see where the chrome grill insert may be a bit much for some (if you focused on it), but when you look at the entire vehicle it really isn't.

JTS97Z28 - There are photos of a mineral grey one in CA posted on cars.com...it also shows the seats without the extra stitching. So, looks like they are not doing it at all now.....

Dan - Hold on my friend! I'm bouncing off the walls, just like you, but I am willing to wait to get just what I want. Feeling better and better every day about making the decision for the Summit.
