I guess I can much better understand how you feel about not wanting to buy a '14, especially with a perfectly good '11 in your driveway. And I can understand your dislike of some of the new body features. But can you understand someone like myself, who needs a new car in the next three months, and who really can't afford to buy a new car more frequently than about every six or seven years, wanting the '14 with all of the tech and drivetrain updates, more than a '13, knowing I'll be driving it at least till 2020. Really, it's a no brainer for me. But, like I said, if I had a perfectly good '11 in the driveway, I wouldn't even be looking at new cars right now. But since I am, the '14 JGC is #1 on my list.

Re: Saw 1st 2014 Today ... NOT Impressed!

I'll just throw my two cents into the mix. Personally I love the new front end. At least on a dark colored Laredo with the halogen lamps (mine is really the only one I've seen in real life).

Granted, I like the old 2011-13 full-chrome grille too, but I actually like the new one better. I think it looks more upscale, while at the same time still looking badass and standing out from the crowd.

But, maybe I'm just biased because I own one.

I will say this though, whether you like the new front end or not, I do think the whole Compass comparison is kinda silly:

- A grille is not the only distinguishable factor of a car.
- The grilles share similarities, but definitely do not look identical, and the only time a person might, might mistake the GC for a Compass is if you're looking at it directly head on. And even then I'd recommend you consider setting an appointment with the eye doctor.
- The Compass body colored chrome ringed grille actually is the in my opinion sole attractive design element of that car, so at least the 2014 WK2's grille has similarities with an attractive part of the Compass, and not all the other unattractive parts.
- The 2011-2013 grille could be considered dated even before the 2014s came out. There have been many occasions that from afar and head-on I've mistaken a WK for a WK2 and vice versa (and I'm not a fan of the WK styling either).

Finally, vehicles, and everything really, should be judged for what they are, not for what other vehicles/things are. Otherwise it's kind of like saying the hot blonde girl next door is so totally ugly and you wouldn't be caught dead with her because there's this ugly girl you know who also has blonde hair, so that makes the hot blonde haired girl ugly too because she's got blonde hair.

i didn't know that, However it would explain why it seemed to be popping out when I saw it in person. Almost like it didn't sit back where it should after use. Besides the washer part, I also thought it was a bit cheap looking though.

It's kinda cool to know they serve a purpose though.

JC, you sir, get a +rep for this Shakespearean brilliance.

That said, bad hair is bad hair.

Aren't the headlight washers only on the Summit?

Wow, that's the first I've heard that. I don't remember seeing it on the build sheet either.

But it sure would be nice.

Re: Saw 1st 2014 Today ... NOT Impressed!

Well I've got a 2012 Overland and I'm seriously considering (planning) to trade it in for a 2014 Overland.

I just saw my first 2014 WK2 Tuesday and I was impressed. The Headlights on the Overland/Summit/SRT look awesome at night. The DRLs on the Overland/Summit/SRT also look much better than the 2011-2013 versions IMHO. I also like how they made the lower sections color-matched now.

The interior also looked improved (slightly) in comparison to my 2012.

Of course there will be folks who don't like the new changes, just like there were folks who didn't like the 2011 redesign when it first came out.

Haters gonna hate.
