To me the new Cherokee is one of those vehicles that look questionable in pictures but not so bad up close. I saw some folks test driving one this weekend and spotted a few as I passed the dealer on my way to work today. That being said..... I wouldn't trade my JGC for one.

Re: Saw New Cherokee, Just Might Give up the Grand for this Next Year!

Seems like they are going to take away more GC buyers than bring in new customers from the other guys small CUVs.

The only thing that really stands out when compared to others is its off-road capability. The average buyer for that size/style vehicle really only cares if it has AWD or not. But someone like my dad who is in the market for a decent 4x4 that can go to the station during the week, and take him to the to our place in upstate NY all year is now rethinking the GC for this.

My buddy at the dealer said of the 10 or so he has sold, they have all been women.

I definitely would not buy one.

Re: Saw New Cherokee, Just Might Give up the Grand for this Next Year!

My wife bought a Cherokee Trailhawk this weekend! It is a very brawny looking Jeep, with lots of really cool electronics. My tastes still favors my 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland. But it is a smaller and similarly equipped vehicle for $10K less. So far we are impressed with the 2014 Cherokee.

Oh my!

That says it all folks. You can't be having any cars that women buy.

Lots of women started buying JKs when they came out as well... that's why the Sahara is so popular. Guess we gotta ditch those now.

I have never seen anyone call a CH "blah"... usually it is all good or all bad.

The Cherokee will capture buyers from competitors... evidently lots of them because they are selling well...

Re: Saw New Cherokee, Just Might Give up the Grand for this Next Year!

I too thought one might replace my GC when it comes time to trade. I got to drive a FWD Limited V6 when I had my GC in for service. I was a little surprised that it was so small as well. The front end is not that bad in person and the interior is very well done and comfortable .
The ride was ok but not as comfortable as my Overland. I think I would really miss the height of the Overland too. It was a nice vehicle and if I were looking for something in that size it would definitely be at the top of the list but I think I'll get another GC.

Re: Saw New Cherokee, Just Might Give up the Grand for this Next Year!

I saw one in person at the grocery store the other day. No offense to anyone but in my opinion, it's the ugliest vehicle I have ever seen; I almost felt bad for the owner.

I remember when pics of the '14 WK came out. Everyone went crazy over how ugly the front and tailgate redesign was. At the end of the day most people jumped in the bandwagon, so it wouldn't surprise me if the new Cherokee did well.

I wouldn't buy the car because it looks horrible. Women are buying these up becasue they think it's "cute". I don't like cute cars. If I did, I would buy a convertable vw bug with eye lashes on the front headlights.

Oh and my buddy sold 5 more in the last week. 4 women and 1 guy.
