Scheduling delays

hi, Would like to have your thoughts about this.
I ordered my Overland (Mineral gray, v8, saddle and tech package) on March 23rd and as of today, it still shows a D status. There was no restriction whatsoever when I ordered and I keep seeing many forum members reaching next statuses on Overlands and even getting their vehicle although they ordered weeks after mine. My dealer says that he has not been able to get the details of why we are not seeing any progress in my order. After 8 weeks I am beginning to become desesparate and wondering if there are any chances that I get what I ordered before the 2012 production starts in July. I already have a VIN and my dealer tells me that it guarantees that I will have it someday. I must admit that i have thoughts about cancelling my order and go back to my original second choice but I really like the Jeep...

Does anyone would have an idea of why my specific order is stuck like that?

thanks,

Re: Scheduling delays

I think the average time to delivery is about 60 days.

Re: Scheduling delays

If you haven't already... I'd ask the dealer to call, not email, the distribution center in Quebec City and find out what is going on. Tell him you want an answer. Mine was built May 6th and is just sitting there. Apparently, there is still a shortage of rail cars and trucks, so even after it is built, there could be a wait.

Good luck!

Hey J:
Good to see that your Jeep has now hit D1 status on the Milous list, with delivery by end of June. You've been in limbo a long time. I hope it works out.

Ordered mineral grey limited 4x4, v6, nav March 16 and still D status. I think us Canadians get bumped to the back.

There have been surprises this week. After 11 weeks on D status and a few calls to my dealer, i decided to give them a visit wednesday june 1st. Had a discussion with the manager who was rather sorry but could not help more and give any info about why My order was in limbo like that. He then asked me if i would be willing to have one from a lot with maybe another color. I asked him to give it a try. He found another vehicle with the same options but with stone white color. I must admit that i never really liked much white cars but had found the JGC very pretty in that color. So i went to see the vehicle at the other dealership and was hooked. Stone white + Saddle just rocks. So, thursday june 2nd, i gave them a call and told them i wanted it in place of my placed order (mineral gray). Guess what happened... the same day we did the papers, my mineral gray vehicle changed to D1 status! I could not believe it! Btw, i could see from the tracking that the 2 priority codes my dealer had put on my order seemed to pay as the delivery date was 3 weeks later, pretty impressive. Anyway, i will never see it and am glad i choosed the stone white one.

Funny how that stuff happens. Last year I waited on an order for three and a half months, then finally gave up on the restrictions being lifted. And an hour after I changed the order, the restrictions came off. Then another six weeks for delivery...

Anyway, the white is a great colour. Now you have all summer to enjoy it!

I just got an email from my dealer and my order also changed to D1 today with a build guess of June 15. I wont get it in time for my June 25 trip to KC but on a positive note its more miles on my trade-in
