Angry Seat Belt Chime

How do you disable the seat belt chime? Before I get a butt chewing about not wearing it, I do in fact wear my seat belt when required. It's the most annoying thing ever when I'm at the boat ramp and it keeps dinging at me to put my seat belt on. There's several other instances where a seat belt is not required and the dinging gets annoying.

I know in all of my past and present Ram trucks you turn the ignition on, plug and unplug the seat belt three times, then turn the ignition off and the the chime is gone. It still shows up on the dash that the seat belt is unhooked, but that's fine with me. I just need to get rid of the dinging!

ebay has some things that plug into the female seatbelt connector and they double as a bottle opener.

Thanks guys, That's the same process as my Ram but it didn't work the first time I tried it. I'll give it another shot this evening.

I tried it last night, and again today, no dice.

It's weird, I can't get it to work on mine either. I've tried multiple times and it just doesn't want to take.

Re: Seat Belt Chime

Worked for me first try last night. Take your time on the unplug-replug cycles, don't rush it. I think that helps.

Re: Seat Belt Chime

I'll give it another shot when I leave work today. Maybe I'm going too fast through the three times.

It chimes after the car is off. I thought I was not disengaging it becuase I was listening for the chime before I hit the power button, but it comes after. Works on my 2013
