Re: Seatbelt chime- turn off?

I turned it off because the 1/4 mile driveway I use to get the mail.
I wouldn't dream of driving around public here without my belt.

Re: Seatbelt chime- turn off?

When I'm driving on the road i always buckle up. But when I'm driving around off road on my own property, especially when I'm going up to the upper lot in the back where I keep my trailer parked, I don't bother, because I know I'm going to be getting in and out of the vehicle several times as I back up to the trailer tongue to hitch it up, and then drive over to the shed where I keep the tie down straps if i'm taking my tractor to the dealer or if I'm taking my motorcycle somewhere, and then I'll get out again to put the tractor or motorcycle on the trailer and strap it down, and then again back down by the house to make sure the straps stayed tight, etc. and I don't like the damn chime going off the whole time.

Re: Seatbelt chime- turn off?

what is a seat belt? I bought the GC so I could leave the back seats folded flat and my 3 kids can play while we go to the beach for vacation. It is nice not being restrained in a seat the whole trip. Lay an air mattress down and it is like a RV, I just wish I could have a stove in there. Maybe I can cut a hole in the roof for a vent, that would be awesome.

I will try the disable today, thanks for the instructions.

I think some people need to get off their pedestal's and let the OP alone. Who cares what he does in his vehicle, it's not like he is hurting you by not wearing his seat belt. Here in PA, we have to wear our seat belts in a car but do not have to wear a helmet when on a motorcycle, how crazy is that? I wish they would get rid of the seat belt law like the helmet law.

If he is injured more severely because of his lack of wearing a seat belt, and his insurance has to pay higher medical bills, everyone's insurance premium goes up in the long run. That does hurt me.

I don't want you riding a pedal bike in case you fall off and get hurt. And quit playing sports of any kind, physical contact could harm someone. And remove the steps in front of your house in case you fall down them. I can go on and on if you would like. It's a slippery slope to "ban" something because it "may" lead to injury. IMO

Re: Seatbelt chime- turn off?

Hey, if we can bitch at someone for doing something which might raise MY rates, I want ALL of you bitches off of the road NOW!

Just you driving around increases my rates! Even if you don't cause an accident yourself, someone might run into YOU! No, no no! I just can't take that risk with MY insurance rates! All of you go park your vehicles. Go inside, turn off the electricity and gas (because you're running up my homeowners insurance too) and cower in the dark!

And turn off your laptops. The radiation from the monitor is driving up my health insurance!

Settled!

Re: Seatbelt chime- turn off?

As a quick follow up to this thread (it's dead but i wanted to give an update of my findings). the step by step instructions listed above works perfectly. I got the chime to turn off the first time i tried it.

Observations after- the red fasten seatbelt light stays on in the speedo until your belt is fastened. In the EVIC, every 3-4 minutes it displays "fasten your seatbelt". I couldn't tell if it gave that message every few minutes or when you got below a certain speed. I was running around town doing stuff.

the good thing is it turns the annoying chime off but keeps reminding you to fasten up. we have some hunting land and we run around filling up deer feeders for several hours. now i dont have to listen to that chime everytime i get in and out of the jeep.

I did!
I wear seat belt when I drive on my driveway, but having the option is the goal... I pull the buzzers/disable in all of my cars
thank you

ilber<- covered enough bodies ejected at MVA w/o seat belts as well as "quatered" humans while wearing seat belts after fatalities... it is the choice that one has to make, but OP asked to disable NOT virtues of restrain system! Just a little respect, guys, please.
