Seats/Ride for Long Road Trip

I was wondering if any of you new owners could comment on the ride quality for a long road trip.

How well does the suspension abosrb tar strips and small pot holes? Is it as quiet as purported?

Also, how do the seats feel after a long drive. I'm wondering if they are too firm. The back seat in particular seems very firm and flat and may not be the most comfortable for a long trip.

Re: Seats/Ride for Long Road Trip

I came from a 06 Ram. The seats are way more comfortable to me. Not to firm not too soft. As far as ride, I love it, smooth and quiet!

Re: Seats/Ride for Long Road Trip

Drove to Chicago and back last week. No complaints here... seats were very comfortable, and it's very quiet inside. Ride quality is great.

Drove about 4.5 hrs to hills in nc to do some camping 2nd week I had it. Comfortable ride handled great on and off road and towing as well. Very quiet my wife mentions it seems you are going slower than you really are with less road noise.

Re: Seats/Ride for Long Road Trip

Overall, very comfortable and relatively quiet. On Friday I went on a three hour drive with my cousin (drives an Audi A6) and he commented that the seat (front passenger) felt more comfotable than his Audi. And that comment came out without me asking.
Mine is the Overland with Q-L, 20" wheels....I'm not sure how the regular suspension, 18" wheels feel.

Re: Seats/Ride for Long Road Trip

Haven't taken a really long trip in it yet (will be doing so tomorrow), but the suspension eats up bumps and is very smooth while also controlling the motions of the body and feeling very solid- no floaty cruise ship feel. I've yet to see anything that would make me think it would be fatiguing or uncomfortable on a long full day's drive- much the opposite, in fact.

Re: Seats/Ride for Long Road Trip

they key is to adjust the sit. (lumbar area etc) Sometimes, the best sitting position (the one that will really help your back etc) may feel conformable at the beginning.

I adjusted mine, and drove for about 3 hours and I was better off than when I started.

The wind noise is minimal, and the engine noise is minimal too (unless you floor it). The combination of ventilated sits and ac makes the ride even more conformable. The steering wheel is nice to hold and very responsive.

The backs sits are also very comfortable.
