Re: Seems shifty.

A rotary knob is not what they are doing according to Milous and Scottina. From what I've gleaned, it's a shifter in the same place that has detents. I'm sure we'll know more soon...

Re: Seems shifty.

The current electronic shifter has detents as well. Shift slower, you can feel them. It's not rocket surgery.

Re: Seems shifty.

To clarify, I believe the detents are "more noticeable" as they were in the MY11-13...at least that has been my impression.

But we could all be wrong and have it turn out to be a mind-meld with the tranny software.

Re: Seems shifty.

I love the 14-15 shifters. Fast, smooth, and quiet. I was thinking about the Ram until i saw the interior (and that shifter)!

Re: Seems shifty.

I do agree current shifter is quirky at first but I've grown to love it. I'd never ever want a rotary knob

Re: Seems shifty.

I have gotten used to the shifter, but I still think it's a dumb design that they made for the sake of change.

Re: Seems shifty.

Yeah....If I were an engineer designing "change", at least I'd have a sense of humor about it.

I'd incorporate a few MP3 sounds of a bell...

And I's make the handle out of brass...ohh ok...cost savings...brass-colored plastic.

and it would sound something like this:
