Select Terrain Buttons

Looking to the future a little, I was wondering if there are any buttons/switches to replace the blanks on the select terrain console? I was thinking one to control the DRL's after I put in the after market harness and one for a possible light bar.

The two positions on the right are blanks:

Re: Select Terrain Buttons

I seem to recall this question being asked previously in a thread. The answer is "no" relative to replacing the blanks with some kind of OEM button. You might be able to source the whole assembly that includes the Quadra Lift control buttons that go in those places and re-purpose them...assuming you can figure out the wiring, of course. But those are momentary buttons that just send a signal to the computer. Not really useful for things like light control unless you can devise circuitry to do that control from momentary buttons.

Re: Select Terrain Buttons

Thanks. Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but at least I won't waste my time thinking about it and planning.

Re: Select Terrain Buttons

Almost anything is possible with a 3D printer. I would imagine you could get someone to print a button based off of the shape of the OEM buttons.

Re: Select Terrain Buttons

That's true, ba'...but if this assembly is like others in my Jeep (I've never pulled out the Select Terrain unit) the back is somewhat sealed, so getting new switches into it might also be a challenge. Chrysler tends to design these switch assemblies as "units" and they, um...switch out...to whole assemblies based on the options on the vehicle. Some folks found this out last year when a production mistake had buttons missing on some models and the fix was to replace the whole assembly with one that had all the right switches integral. In the good old days, buttons in vehicles were all separate. No more...
