Serious Snow Finally!

Awoke here in S.E. Pa. to serious snow coming down this morning, by the time I got outside at 9:00 am there was a good 14 to 16 inches where it wasn't drifted. Took me a good hour and a half to plow my driveway (88 GMC) and clean stuff up as it kept coming down and the roads (country) had not been plowed yet! So around noon or so I got the Jeep out of the garage and went for a little adventure drive and I gotta tell ya, snow mode and the Hankooks it was unstoppable! I drove thru a few developments that I am familiar with (watching the mailboxes) and the looks on some of the people's faces, that were outside with shovels and snow blowers waiting for the plow truck, were priceless! At least 14 inches and more where drifted, stopped/started, punched thru some walls left by plows (carefully) I guess the only limiting factor would be depth of course; steep hills etc. does not matter, it just goes! Gotta say it is impressive! Sorry no pics, Dave

Re: Serious Snow Finally!

We got about ten here...took awhile to plow out with my small Kubota because it was heavy stuff. I didn't, unfortunately, have time to try and get the JGC stuck.

So 15 inches in Gaithersburg (been there), my friends down on the North end of the chesapeake got 12 or so, and I am up here in Chester County Pa, (West Chester area) and we had 15 or more in some places; what a swath of snow from this storm, and yes loving the Jeep in snow too! Dave

Nope. I can get no higher than the 2nd floor of my house. But the view of the snow from there was impressive.

Only what I saw on TV and the internet but yes, big! And I just looked outside and now we are getting the "backend" that they said would happen, snowing like crazy, another 3 or more inches before morning! Geez, Dave

Re: Serious Snow Finally!

Dang! We only had a couple inches of snow and slush here, but I got to play a bit with the "Polar Bear" anyway. Good stuff!

Re: Serious Snow Finally!

Here in eastern upstate NY we got 22 inches. At least it is not too cold outside and the snow is dry.

Re: Serious Snow Finally!

Down here in East Tennessee we didn't get near as much snow as you guys up there but with anything more than an inch or two here in the foothills it's a nightmare with tourists coming in for WinterFest and locals who don't have a clue.

Just got my 2009 GC Overland 2 weeks ago to replace the old 97 Ford F 150 4x4 I could no longer drive due to a bad knee and stick shift.

With 8 inches on the ground I got to take the wife to work and play in the snow and I must say after going through what we call suicide hills, I am more than pleased that I got rid of that old truck and moved up to something with class.
