With my other cars, I just push the lever forward until it stops. I can feel the detents and I know by feel when it is park. With this thing, I never know if is in park unless I look at the dash and confirm the range visually. I had the recall done and it's pretty clear it does not do anything with the shifter itself. It is still as vague as ever. In fact yesterday while on a hill in my driveway I thought I was in in park, and when I looked at the dash I was in reverse. I didn't open the door to test the fix. I need to do that. The other problem is that my wife is always putting the AT into sport mode by mistake. With my BMW you can only go into sport mode, by pulling the lever toward the driver. Why FCA came up with a backward pull on the lever to go into sport mode is beyond me.
I haven't had any issue with this shifter so far neither my wife and im not thinking of doing the recall either. I agree with The sport mode how it works. Sucks. I also have an f30 BMW and the good thing is that the shifter has a P button for parking that needs to be press.

Someone please explain this one. Don't know how my GC can be in park and neutral and show MPH? Shifter showed the vehicle in park!

This is before the fix. I have not scheduled mine to go in yet for the recall.
