Shifter recall question???

I know there are a few threads about the shiftier recall but I'd like to hear from someone who's had it done.

I brought my Jeep in the other day for the recall. Today I decided to try it to see how it actually works. While in drive with foot on brake I unfastened my seat belt and opened drivers door. Nothing happened??? Then took my foot off the brake! Nothing happened! Tried it in reverse / neutral still nothing happened. (Did not go into park)

Am I missing something? Has anyone tested this?

Before I call the dealership and start bitc##ing about the inconvenience of having to bring it back and telling me it's been done when it hasn't I wanted to hear from others. Are your Jeeps going into park when in gear and the drivers door is opened?

If so in my case WTF don't these idiots check before they release the vehicle. I guess I needed to check before I left! Sorry about the rant but this just pisses me off!

Definitely looks like you "bus" is staying awake for whatever reason, I haven't had one do that after the S27 but it needs looked at so the battery doesn't die.

Paullee01 - So you tried it stopped, placed in neutral, unbuckled driver's seat belt, foot off brake and then opened the driver's door and it didn't auto park? If so, you'll need to take it back. I see you are in West Palm Beach (I'm in Miami Beach area), at least you took yours to a dealership in Palm Beach County --- Miami-Dade County dealerships aren't good...especially Aventura CJDR.

I go to Arrigo in WPB and established a good relation with the service writer (that may help) They've always taken care of my issues. I'm just annoyed that they didn't check before releasing the jeep back to me.

I suspect that one of the 4 modules didn't get re flashed, I would take it back and tell them to redo it, I check every S27 recall I do to make sure it works correctly, I assumed that all technicians did?

Seems they only do the recalls on Monday and Friday. I'm guessing that's the days the technician is there. I'm bringing it back this Monday Will keep everybody updated.

Update: Brought it back in to dealer today. This time I checked it before I left the dealership. Everything working as it should. Vehicle automatically goes into park now!
