Thank you, yours was definitely performed correctly im betting anyone's that does autopark with the seat belt plugged in possibly didnt get there IPC updated or the update failed mid way though and the tech didn't restart the flash.

Sure thing, is the cable long enough?

Yes. And, I did a little more testing after work.

So, what I was originally referring to was at startup and backing out of my garage; buckled or unbuckled the autopark kicks in. Even if I backed out to the end of the driveway and then put it in drive to pull into the garage, the moment the door opens autopark kicks in; buckled or unbuckled.

Now after driving home I pulled up in the street and slowed to a crawl while in drive, and buckled, the autopark would not engage. Unbuckled autopark engages.

Out of curiosity, is autopark engaged by the brakes or transmission? It's quite effective and the transmission goes to Park, but it can't be good for the transmission if that's what engages it.

I live in a condo building on the beach... no place to wash it onsite. And the self-serve hand spray car washes around here are very very few and far between, I think it is an environmental thing to prevent runoff into the ocean and bay. Pretty much stuck with having others wash it....the upside is I get to see a bunch of fancy cars being hand washed too as I wait ... lots of RR's, Bentleys and high end sports cars around here.

For a $1.50 I'd need a Nascar pit crew to get it done in the 15 seconds $1.50 would get you. Hell, the machines here won't even turn on until you deposit $4.00.

8 minutes later and $12.00 lighter my car still looks like $hit and I'm covered with dirt, soapy foam and wax, my shoes are soaking wet and covered in mud from the redneck who went mudding the night before.

I'd gladly pay someone thirty bucks to do a proper job washing it.

I guess I'm lucky because I have a few that are really cheap, last about 2 minutes which is plenty for me since I don't let my Jeep get that dirty. The water is hot as well.

Luckily WiTech is a wireless based system so no cords, but I don't think our wireless router will reach you from here ha

But autopark is watching for the brake switch to be released and engages the transmission park paw, and yes its defiantly a little hard on the transmission I wouldn't get in the habit of rolling along and letting autopark "test" my transmission strength

I get 4 minutes for a dollar fifty. I get alerted at the 60-second mark and if I'm not done I just pop in another quarter and get an extra minute. I've never even heard of a $30 Car Wash but I don't live in New York City either

Re: Shifter recall- unintended consequence that costs us $$$ now

Yes, we are in a sad decline folks!
When people are in such an effin' hurry to get anywhere and everywhere, to see what the latest "ding" on their phone says and send selfies and pics of whatever the hell they are doing at THAT moment!

We recently got rear ended in SWMBO's Kia by an idiot on a cell phone, looking at texts. He jumped out an yelled that it was my fault because I was going too fast!!

Figure THAT one out......

The good news is that he was insured and also got a ticket....the car goes in to the shop in a couple of weeks.

I have a 16 HA with the new shifter. It doesn't have autopark, there's no need for it and there's no recall to add it.

Is there a lock out for auto park above a certain speed? It makes it easy for someone to stop your jeep if the doors are unlocked by just opening a door.
