Re: Short-Term Review 2011 JGC

A great complement to existing reviews, and logically structured. Better than 90% of existing commercial reviews, as well. Good show, and thanks!

Please let this be review 1.0, and get out updates as warranted.

Re: Short-Term Review 2011 JGC

Do you feel like it was money well spent? I know alot of people that have buyers remorse after a large purchase.

Great review, thanks. Appreciated the detail - cool that it has an altimeter. I wanted one on my '02.

Nice review. One nitpick, Cerberus owns no part of Chrysler.

Re: Short-Term Review 2011 JGC

Doesn't the 5.7 come with the multi-speed overdrive automatic transmission? The V6 comes with the 5-speed...

Oh, and great review!

My bad Marlon, so did Fiat and UAW take them out fully?

Fiat has I think 20%, UAW has i believe around 50%, And the rest is U.S. Government. I read an article about a month ago and these figures are what I remember. They may be off on percentage, but not on the owners.

Fiat has the right to purchase an additional 10% based on performance managing the company the first year. If they don't perform well enough then no additional purchase.

Cerebus is an investment company. They were all about the money from the start. No concern for longterm of company, product, or customer. They purchased chrysler from Daimler benz at a steal compared to what Daimler paid for it's share. Their intention was to buy cheap and sell for a profit,i.e. the attempted merger with GM which didn't happen. When the bottom fell out in '08-'09 the government takeover more or less bought them out.

Oh, and great review!
Both are 5 speed transmissions.

The Pentastar V-6 gets the Mercedes W5A580 5 speed. The Hemi gets the Chrysler 545RFE 5 speed. The 545RFE actually has 6 gear ratios; there are two second gears to pick from, depending on whether you're accelerating normally or you kick it down for more power while passing.

Excellent and thoroughly relevant review, Moose! I've started working on a review myself but you beat me to the punch.
