Good God I hope a Republican doesn't make it to the White House, or rollback CAFE standards...lets not go backwards. Not only do current CAFE standards help minimize our dependance on foreign oil (or fossil fuels in general) , it helps with the environment as well.

I for one would not want to live in a polluted country like China.

And is uncoupling from their other money maker, Ferrari.

The European 2 litre Fiats were nice sports coupes, and the Alfa sports coupes were really nice--until they were allowed to just die. We won't even mention the Citroen/Maserati mutant or the final models of Maserati sold in the USofA--that were so bad even K-Cars made fun of them.

The Mopar engines will likely all need to be scrapped real soon now for CAFE, and there aren't any obvious replacements with direct injection, etc. in the works to bump mileage without being outrun by turtles.

Maybe Elon Musk?
Ahh, according to Allpar inside sources 3.6 PUG production starts soon for 2016 WK and will have DI, new heads and valve control integrated into the heads and Belt starter generator.

I really didn't mean it as such. Whomever becomes our next President, I hope they continue to move forward when it comes to making vehicles even more efficient, cleaner for the environment, and safer for its occupants.

Forwards...not backwards.

Sounds like a lot of shit to go wrong. Hopefully they can manage...

As long as the start/stop feature can be disabled, I don't have a problem with it.

This secrecy BS pisses off customers, and I wonder how many folks have defected to brand x, because of it. I wrote that in my survey, they need to step up their game let people know what is in the pipeline so they can plan future purchases accordingly.

If by customers, you mean enthusiasts, then yes. Consumers and sometimes customers don't care and most of the time, don't even notice.

The problem is letting the competition know what's up. This is contradictory though, considering Marchionne doesn't think that ANYONE cares what parts are under the hood!

Oh, trust me, they ALL care. He'd be surprised how many people will refuse to buy a Jeep if they found out that the engine was using Dex-Cool, and they already had a terrible experience with GM, Dex-Cool and intake gaskets...

I don't understand why they want to merg with GM so badly. GM has all those things going on with the ignition recall from the cobalts to killing off hummer, Pontiac and Saturn. And they make crap cars. Unless Chrysler is desperate to learn how to build a full size SUV.. Which I think is a little late for that. Haha

Development money in a nutshell. The pace of change and required innovation with vehicles is accelerating. The confluence of electric/alt fuel/hybrid, safety tech, shorter product lifecycle, etc.. is a very tough thing for all with it's cash suck.
