I wouldn't go that far about Cadillac...just handling maybe in the lower classes...overall no way. But I agree that Cadillacs are over-priced compared to the equivalent of what Audi, BMW, and Mercedes have to offer...and in general, Cadillacs do not hold their resale value as much either.

IMO Cadillac, Lexus, and Infiniti are still down a rung or two comparied to what the Germans have to offer.

The cadillac's have a perception problem; the brand has been trashed in the past, but today's ats / cts compete head to head on performance with their german counterparts. Read some reviews by pro's, they all say it. The new upcoming ct6 is also supposed to be killer, it's in the same class as the bmw 7 series but weighs less than the current 5 series.

You are absolutely right! GMs badge engineering in the past really hurt Cadillac's brand but their new products can stand up to anyone. It will take some time but if they keep putting out product like this then they will be a worthy competitor to the German 3.

Yeah, but look at the size of the trunk...you can fit 3 bodies in there...

Don't need to.

I test drove a loaded 2015 Cadillac ATS 4 cylinder, a 2015 Lexus IS350, 2015 Infiniti Q50...even the long in the tooth 2015 A4 (all of these AWD)...

...and none came close to the newly redesigned 2015 Mercedes C300 4Matic Sport or even the benchmark 2015 BMW 328i xDrive in overall quality, driveability, or luxury. The interior of the 2015 C300 blew them all away!

The New C class is an amazingly nice car for the class...looking forward to seeing the new C63 coupe. With the current generation of product MB will dominate the luxury marketplace in the next couple years...The new C/S class are amazing, the new E class will be coming next year, The SUVs are redone with new interiors for next year. BMW/Audi were caught sleeping but they will be back with the next generation of product, and hopefully Cadillac is right there with them.
