Re: Should I be upset? Overland…

I'm sure the trucking company doesn't deliver single units to a single dealer, and so your vehicle is waiting there for a "full truck" to your area. Other posts seemed to say that a dealer can't dispatch a courier to the depot to pull a single vehicle. The dealer is responsible for the vehicle once it is inspected and approved while on the truck. Driving it from the depot would put them in jeopardy of an accident along the way, and doubtful they would want that responsibility anyway.

Of course...

This is a situation where there have been plenty of shipments to my dealer, as well as area dealers over the past two weeks. And it hasn't been an issue of full trucks of already sold vehicles either.

Re: Should I be upset? Overland…

For anyone who checked out this thread earlier... or even commented, I wanted to bring some closure.

It ended up that my dealership called the auto depot and asked for a release of my Overland ASAP. The depot complied, and my new Jeep was delivered on Monday. Not only that, but the dealership prepped the vehicle and had it ready for me to pick up later that evening... throwing in the fog light bezels and illuminated door sill guards to boot.

They too were a little dumbfounded by the 2 week delay in shipping from the auto depot.

But, when all is said and done... I get to drive my Overland around this weekend... enjoying the great fall weather here in Central Pennsylvania!

If interested in seeing some pics:

Re: Should I be upset? Overland…

My belief is that the vehicle computer regulates throttle opening from a stop (even if we mash the pedal) so that the V6 feels a bit lethargic off the line while the computer slowly opens the throttle plate. It's probably done for emissions and fuel economy purposes. The torque is there (it's broad and flat), it just isn't there in a huge off-idle surge. That, and the effects of a 3.07 (3.08?) rear axle set greatly affects the butt dyno. If we could have 3.56 or 3.73 gears with the V6 engine there would be no discussion about lack of torque.
