Re: Should Jeep make a "Black Edition" Grand Cherokee Overland

This thread resulted in the vehicle being rolled out at the Houston Auto show a week later and the Altitude was born.

Let's try this again. I propose to Fiat/Chrysler/Jeep the following idea for a premium Special Edition model...

Model Year: 2014
Make: Jeep
Model: Grand Cherokee
4x4 (or optional 4x2)
5.7L V8 (and other engine options)
Trim Level: Overland
Exterior Color choices: Black Clear Coat, Billet Silver Metallic, Granite
Crystal Pearl, Bright White, Redline Pearl
Black Overland Interior - Nappa Leather with silver or white piping and silver or white stitching on leather dash, middle console and door inserts.
Carbon Fiber Applique (in place of wood)
Heated Black Leather Steering wheel with side bolsters.
2014 style 20" Overland 5 spoke polished wheels with gloss black inserts, or 20" Summit wheels in black vapor chrome.
Body color painted lower fasicas (since this is based off of the Overland).
Body color painted mirror caps
Body color painted handles
Black Chrome or gloss black powder coated Tail pipes/tips.
Tail Lamps with black instead of chrome (like the new SRT has)
Headlights with black bezels in place of chrome (with the complete DRL LEDs like the new 2014 Overland has already)
Rear body painted lower fascia and body painted tow hitch cover.
Trailer Tow standard, and the other standard Overland items and options.

I went to the paint shop and it would be pretty cheap to have all the trim painted to colour match. $500 not including the wheels. I'm pretty sure if you preorder you could get it done.

Re: Should Jeep make a "Black Edition" Grand Cherokee Overland?

How about just a no chrome option, available on any trim?

Make chrome trim an option package that no one would buy

What Jeep SHOULD do is offer a TOTALLY COLOR MATCHED Style for ALL Trim Levels and ALL Colors.

NO Chrome with the possible exception of the exhaust. Similar to what is offered for the Durango.
