And a "full-blown" Cattle Guard would look Really Stupid IF it were even doable ! ? Actually now that I think of it, if the COPS have those - & I have seen them on their Explorers - then who knows ?

Darn another edit - guess my hands are quicker than my brain, hee hee ! I've nearly had front end "run-ins" with the truck but off road on some of the Fire Road/trails on side-sloppy terrain . . . \_ !

Mine is just a brush guard and a place to mount the winch fairlead, license plate and trail lights. I need the winch for where I go and what I do but didn't like the look of just a plain fairlead on the front of the bumper.
It is built tough enough to deflect a deer or elk into the windshield or roof or ??? (not that I like that option any better than the radiator) but it isn't intended to be a push bar either.

Re: Show & tell - wk2 photos off roading "proof"

HEY all you red blooded American Jeep WK2'ers, the AUSSIES are Embarrassing you !
They have some Awesome Australian "outback" Country ! Haven't scene much in the way of Rugged Mountainous (with WK2) photo journalism ! Now I know "WE" have Fantastic Scenery in ALL parts of America . . . Cause over the years I've been; in New Hampshire, Upstate N.Y., N. Georgia, N. Michigan, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Montana, Oregon, N. California and finally Home in Washington !
SADLY, non were in a JEEP (of any kind) and I want to make up for Lost Time real soon !
SO, Come on You American "trolls" (I hate the implication) and Members of the WK2 Family . . . or do I have to expand this thread to the "REAL JEEPERS" (as they keep calling themselves - those Wranglers / Wranglerettes ! ha ha ! ?
Ain't nobody but the FEW & the BRAVE (so far) done anything Exciting OFF ROAD beside you single guys and your girlfriends "messin' round" !? Can't fool me, I was young (once, he he), been there, done that, probably more than you & certainly more than you'll ever know, HA HA! And NO; NO pics (of that!) please !
And say a few words - captions below the photos, or real "talking-movies" (video) !

OK, I've pleaded enough . . . psst, hey Aussies I still luv ya too ! I just needed to kick some ass here in America, apparently too many of us are (maybe) depressed over what choices we've given ourselves in the upcoming / ever so long elections ! ? Political commentary NOT wanted, just joking with the Aussies ! GDay!

I took the family out for the day again on Monday—and a stunning day it was. Sunshine and a perfect 22° all day!

We hit some local trails, nothing too crazy, but a few good climbs and descents. The new Nittos I have now were amazing. Grip for days!

My 3yo son and I then did a little trainspotting later in the afternoon—we followed this 1893 Beyer Peacock steam loco for about 80km. Turns out Jeeps are great for chasing steam trains too! The driver had it wound up to about 90kph at one point.

South West of Western Australia at a place I call the lonely chair. Perfect spot for a beer after a surf.

I was thinking the subtitle should be "Loneliest bench". . . by . . . ?
But then there was photo 4 and it became Her Lonely Bench.
Where were you ? It could of been "The Happy Bench for 2" ?
Should of waited for the Sunset shot !
Your wheels & tires "almost" look too big by proportion ! ?

Once again my Aussie friends come thru.
Where are the Yanks ?

Re: Show & tell - wk2 photos off roading "proof"

For all you fine "Show & Tellers" I thought I would share a decision I made (probably subliminally in my sleep ?) and shared with the folks over on the 2017 WK2 Thread. Way too long and "interesting" hee hee, so please click over and read. But the jist is . . . I will be purchasing sooner . . . & it will be the 2016 Recon 75th Laredo E with ORA1 and Tow. I hope to be able to swap out the 18" wheels/tires with the (similar) Wrangler 75th 17" wheels/tires as these would be much better off road capable (air downs +)!
AND of course IF this thread still exists (or even if not), I WILL be sharing MY off road experiences here in Our National Parks and other places of interest - like Telluride, CO. and any of the Jeep Trails (< 5 rating, don't want to hurt my "baby").

Here are some pictures of mine.

Southern VT, snowmobile trail on sisters property in late summer

Approx same location this February, AKA the snowless winter in New England.

Lower part of property. If you look at the angle of the trees you will see how steep the grade is.

Oh, Originator of greatness that is the "Garage" you are much to modest !
This Thread has ALWAYS been, from the beginning, an AWESOME thread, many just didn't "believe" in the "Fly" - as they are calling me now . . . hmmmm !

Never die ? Well, that is stretching it a bit . . . but if it lasts for as long as it takes ME to submit MY off road adventure shots . . . that would be awesome indeed ! That would mean Late Fall at the earliest, once I get the "green machine" broke in !

It's near a pretty popular surf spot in the wine and surf country around Margaret River. Couldn't wait till sunset as we had to get to the pub because we ran out of beer.

Wheels and tyres do look a little out in entry/exit mode with the ORAII but jacked up they proportion well.

DO you say "beeR" or "BeeA" ? It's all from the heart Dingo !
So, as with the other post about a River and the Road that follows, I'm guessing that the Margaret River's road is not called by the River next to it ?
