Re: Show & tell - wk2 photos off roading "proof"

Hey great thread! I can't believe I'm just finding it now.

We've done a fair bit of off-roading and adventuring in the Chief Products WK2, so I thought I'd share a few of our photos.

We've also posted a few videos up on YouTube. If you enjoy watching videos of a WK2 tackling some tough trails, it's worth checking out.

Chief Products WK2 @ Landcruiser Mountain Park (Telecom Hill)

Chief Products WK2 @ Landcruiser Mountain Park (Road To Camp)

Chief Products WK2 @ 2015 Jeep Jamboree (Test Track)

* I tried embedding the videos, but there seemed to be an error.

Cheers,
Bill

Lou, or Fly, yes it is I, if you prefer . . . one has even suggested needing a "fly swatter" !
Dear Mr. Chief, THESE videos are NOT my intent for the "Show & Tell" thread .
IF you read the 1st (my) entry you would know that ! IF you intend to turn MY thread into an ADVERTISERS HeyDay . . . well I suppose not much I can do about it, other than state my displeasure !
And that is all I think anyone cares to hear from me on this . . . I guess "Mr. Fly Swatter" has gotten his wish !

Currently I AM "negotiating" my "deal" for my G.C.Laredo 75th, and if all goes well I hope to "hit the hills" close to home (WA.) till get it broke-in, while not breaking it ! Then Off to (probably) Colorado 1st - so much good fishing and wilderness and camping out where there is NO traffic noise . . .

I have to agree with alludc,

Chief Products seem to sell goodo stuff, not sure whats wrong with them showing some nice pics and videos..
Anyways...it seems there has to be camping pics here ?...well, just for you, I looked them up and found one with the tents preparing for the night.
Have a great day.

Re: Show & tell - wk2 photos off roading "proof"

I like Bill's videos, says more about the capabilities of the Jeep than his products. He's just a jeep owner who wanted some offroad protection and was good enough to make extras for the rest of us to enjoy the same chance to use our Jeeps to their full potential.

bmackin is a forum member doing exactly what you asked for FlyFinaticLou. He is showing and telling and the "Proof" is in the pics and videos. I was "advertising" his products on this thread before he ever did. Like Benn0, I'm glad he shares the same enthusiasm in off-roading and I'm eternally grateful that he shared his fabrication skills with us too.

Hi Lou,

Sorry my post upset you. It's true that I'm the owner of Chief Products, but I'm also a person. A person who loves camping and off-roading. That's why I started the company and why I enjoyed reading through your thread.

I very rarely get a chance to pop on the forums like I used to. As the owner of Chief Products I probably should've been answering emails or posting in some of the threads I started ages ago, but as a WK2 owner your thread seemed fun to me. Since I do a fair bit of camping and off-roading in my WK2, I guess I thought I might have something fun to contribute.

I honestly wasn't trying to make a sales pitch, (i.e. no mention of our products, or links to the website, etc.). I linked to our YouTube videos, because they are the only videos I have of me off-road in my WK2. I tried editing my post to remove the video links and mentions of Chief Products, but I couldn't find a way to do it. If somebody PMs me with a way to do it, I'll happily edit the post.

You've got a great thread here! All the best with the purchase of your WK2. It's a great vehicle and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Cheers,
Bill

P.S. Thanks to everyone that vouched for me!

ARB, Murchison, and Uneek are also Australian companies that make several WK2 aftermarket products.

The Australians tend to use and equip their WK2s for off-road purposes, so that's where I needed to order from - yes shipping is expensive and time consuming but well worth it in my opinion.

Does the company Liams have an online presence and do they do later models (specifically 2015)?

Nothing intense but my buddy's driveway up north in the woods is just two track and lots of fun to drive on! I took my DJI Phantom drone up there and put it in Follow Me mode to capture it!
